Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. reportedly agreed to terms with the New Orleans Saints on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million with $3 million guaranteed on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Gay shared his gratitude for the Kansas City Chiefs and Chiefs Kingdom.

Posting to his Twitter/X account, Gay capped off his four-year Chiefs tenure by thanking the fans, the members of the front office and the organization as a whole:

Chiefs Kingdom!!!!❤️

Man, I'm so blessed you took a chance on this country boy from Mississippi. Lord knows I was so scared moving 10 hours away from home, lol, but the Amazing fans and people in general here made my transition so much easier. People of Kansas City, I love you all❤️. To The Hunt Family, Brett Veach, Coach Spags, and my favorite, lol, BIG RED, THANK YOU GUYS for accepting me for who I was coming in as just a young, energetic football-loving Young man. Over four years, I've been to 3 Super Bowls and four AFC championships and won 2 rings. Ok, I'm done bragging , but I’m so thankful for the Chiefs organization. I LOVE YALL FOREVER. Now I have to see if I can get my son to stop watching and singing the Red Kingdom videos ‍♂️. I'm so excited for the next chapter of my career #WHODAT NATION it's go time.

In January after the Chiefs' win over the Miami Dolphins at Arrowhead Stadium in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, Gay tweeted that he had probably played his last game at Arrowhead:

It’s looking like Ive probably played my last game in arrowhead. Damn im going to miss that place. Nothing like it❤️ lets go get this Ring to end it the right way

After bringing back fellow pending free agent linebacker Drue Tranquill, Gay's departure from KC is no surprise. However, as Gay heads to New Orleans, it's clear that his appreciation for Kansas City won't be going anywhere.
