Flyers win, move to the Eastern Conference Finals!

Bring on the Penguins! Or maybe the Rangers if they pull off a miracle.

After falling behind by 2 goals in the third period, the Flyers pulled off an incredible comeback to knock off the Canadiens 6-4 and win their series against Montreal 4 games to 1. It was another total team effort in the comeback, with several players stepping up, making plays and scoring goals to lead the Flyers to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Scottie Upshall was the big hero of the night as he scored the game winning goal when he deflected in a Jeff Carter shot with 3 minutes left in the third. R.J. Umberger also continued his incredible goal scoring streak with two goals tonight, scoring for the 5th game in a row to give him 9 total goals in the playoffs. Umberger has been just incredible lately, scoring timely goals on some amazing plays.

This is a special Flyers team. They have gone from the worst team in the NHL to one of the four best teams in the league. While so much credit is given to GM Paul Holmgren for re-shaping this team, plenty should be given to Coach John Stevens for getting them to play the game the right way. The Flyers work hard, hit hard, and don't let anything come easy for their opponents. How Stevens isn't a finalist for the NHL Coach of the Year award is beyond me; he certainly has been pushing all the right buttons and making all the right decisions for the last month.

The Canadiens, the number one seed in the Eastern Conference, are the next team to fall to the Flyers. With so much at stake now, the competition will really step up and the Flyers will have to raise their game even more. We are going to see if this team has been overachieving this whole time or if they are truly a team that is destined to win it all. After a few days of solid rest, hopefully they can get right back out there and continue to play with the intensity and aggression that no team has been able to match so far.

Oh, and if they do end up playing the Penguins, I wonder what injury Sidney Crosby will make up this time to avoid playing the Flyers?

oh boy oh boy LETS GO FLYERS! man is umberger on fire or what?

Umberger is the MAN! And we know how he loves playing against the Penguins

oh yes oh yes! an all-PA conference final? barring an amazing comeback, this series is gonna be a good one

I think we all need to root for the Rangers tomorrow to push the Pens to the limit, maybe rough up Crosby a bit. The Flyers have a nice advantage being able to wait for their next opponent.

Yeah Baby that's what i'm talking about.....C'mon boys it's stanley cup time!

im getting cup crazy

Flyers in 6 over the baby Pens. This team is the best playoff-caliber team the Flyers have ever had. I realize the teams in the 90s were good with Lindros/LeClaire/Renberg, Desjardans, etc, but this team is better constructed not only for the new NHL but specifically for the playoffs. Everybody who watched the Flyers during the Lindros era can remember them cruising through the regular season, only to lose in the second or third round to a fast team with clutch goaltending, two characteristics that were severely lacking for the Flyers back then. There's something special about these guys, they don't lose their cool when they go down a goal or it gets tied up - they are comfortable playing in any and all scenarios. Most fun I've had watching the NHL playoffs in years

They have to play smart, controlled defense against these guys and not get into a speed contest with Malkin and Crosby. Slow them down and beat the ever-living daylights out of them, every shift, every time they touch the puck. Sid is soft like a Ron Hextall playoff goal

Bring on the Pen's..But hopefully The rangers put it to 7 games so we can give our guys a little rest which is always good....

Flyers don't have the horses to hang with the Pens. I'm not a real big hockey fun but I'm an avid Steelers/Pirates fan--so I'll enjoy seeing the hometown team defeat the Flyers.

They beat the #1 seed bro in 5 games......The only loss was in OT......C'mon thats some big words your talking......

He even says he's not a hockey fan, why would he know what he is talking about?

E he don't know nuthin

You sound just like the Capitals and Canadiens fans who said the Flyers couldn't hang with them. Everyone underestimates the Flyers, that's just how they want it!

We (the Flyers) won 5 out of 8 games this past season; now we need to win 4 out of 7. I think our chances our good.

You have no clue what your talking about jwlinder..... you have no clue... Why don't you open your eyes, and see the light... The pen's blow... you played to walk through playoff games ottawa, and the rangers... wow what a challenge that was... We played the hottest team in hockey... and the best team in hockey stay out of the hockey discussions because you have no clue what your talking about..

Pens are gonna kick the Flyers ass!!!! Philadelphia seems cursed any ways when it comes to any kind of championship, even when it comes to horse racing they cant get lucky. Just a few years ago Smarty Jones was supposed to bring atleast some sorta championship to the City by winning the Triple Crown and what happens??? After winning two of the three, the damn horse breaks his leg. So, I think that its not in Philly's cards to have a Champion team in that city.

Biron has stopped an average of 30 shots on goal a game......Yeah we got some s**t going against the penguins.........

Ip15601!! What are you !! WHO ARE YOU !! you come out of no where with this mornic comments!!! Learn your facts before you jump in the Fire.
Smarty Jones you shouldn't even bring into it that was a great story and it shows how passionite the people of Philly are... You wouldn't know that though since you lived in dc, then Montrel now pitt... So don't jump on our band wagon after we smoke the pens... Don't show up on Broad street after we winn the cup either@

about Versus commentators not(Jones) but the other 2 during whole series ...Their not believers.. Boy were they wrong...

First we pray , Second we eat , Third we clean (Pittsburgs' clocks). Fourth we rest, Fifth we pray some more, Sixth we clean more clocks, and on the Seventh we celebrate. God Bless our Flyers.

In three weeks, Philadelphia will mark 25 empty years without a championship.....the flyers are gonna break the streak GO FLY GUYS
