Pens, Flyers Proposed To Play Outdoor Game At Penn State

First of all Beaver Stadium does not seat 180,000...hopefully you meant 108,000 because that is a little closer. That being said, having a game of that magnitude played there is tougher than you think. Ask the Eagles and Steelers how long it takes once such an idea is proposed. There have been talks about them playing a preseason game there for years and nothing has happened yet. The NHL might have some better luck because they're a little more desperate for revenue, publicity, and popularity and such a game would be fantastic. I know I'd be buying tickets as soon as they went on sale.

It would be awesome if this ended up happening. I know I would travel to Happy Valley from Philly to see a beatdown on the Pens! This did a lot of good for the NHL on Jan 1 when Pittsburgh took on Buffalo. That was the highest rated hockey game in 10 years AND it had to compete with college bowl games. A PA Battle would be awesome for hockey.
