Wilson's job in Jeopardy?

The San Jose Sharks are only one loss away from elimination. How can this be? Just a few weeks ago everyone in the hockey world was watching them win at an incredible rate and most experts had picked them to win the Lord Stanley's Cup. Now they have their backs against the wall and many Sharks fans are looking for answers to why they are coming up short year after year. It all starts with head coach Ron Wilson and his lack of emotion on and off the bench. For some reason the Sharks players need to be pushed in the playoffs for them to compete, look at the games against the Stars and Game 6 against the Flames in round 1. They have played uninspired hockey and have been outplayed by the Dallas Stars in every facet of the game and it's Ron Wilson's job not to let that happen. It's hard to let a coach go when he has won an average of 46 games over the last 4 years but other than an '04 loss in the Conference Championships, Wilson's playoff resume has been very poor for such a talent enriched team.

They ran into a very hot team that has been playing very well lately. It happens. Stars have had that luck the last 3 years and now they may actually make more noise.

True Dallas is looking great. but as good as they look San Jose has looked horrible. The play with no passion and it seems if Nabokov is tried.

Lots of luck involved in hockey and Dallas has it on their side now. It's not that the Sharks have been playing that poorly. A couple of bounces the other way and this thing could easily be 2-1 for the Sharks. Getting Zubov back now is great, also. Timing is everything, I guess.

Zubov looks like he never missed a game and i agree with you that a couple of bounces in the sharks favor and they could be up but i've always believed that the harder you work the luckier you get and the sharks aren't working that hard. They at least aren't playing the same hockey they did when they went on that run late in the season and they need to get back to that to have any chance of winning a game.

I hear ya. Running into a hot team in the playoffs is the last thing a team wants to do. 1-1 now going into the 3rd. Have a good one.

I am not surprised because the Calgary Flames had them on their heals. Now forget about the Sharks we should be giving my team more credit the Penguins.

The only thing the penguins get credit for is Cindy Crysby diving and Malone high stinking Drury and the refs wondering what happened . Oh I forgot , the Russian pig Malkin Slew footing Mara twice on the same shift in game 4.

Congratulations NHL , your referees have done you proud and decided another game , too bad it was the best game of the playoffs to date. It never ceases to amaze me how a play in the corner of a rink in the 7th period can result in a tripping penalty , exhaustion must have played a part because any referee with half a brain an an inch of balls would have let play continue, so obviously the ref was exhausted and shouldn't have been out there. Cudo's to Bettman as well , his new initiative , and rule enforcement have proven to be a godsend. Proof is in the pudding , best hockey is when refs aren't a factor.

No excuses. The Sharks had plenty of opportunities to win that game. They had their penalty and power play chance in the 3rd overtime and could not capitalize on it. That's the breaks.

I agree with you completely.
