Good move for the Spurs. Elson and Barry weren't giving them much, but Thomas will be a decent big to play behind and along side Tim Duncan. As for the Sonics, the only reasons I can think of doing this move is to be nice to Thomas. Thomas' $8 mil or so contract was already expiring, and Barry and Elson won't be parts of a rebuilding process in Seattle/OK city. Maybe a draft pick will be involved? Maybe he wasn't a good influence on the youngsters (telling Kevin Durant to try rebound - how dare he)?
