<title>Packers' Herron hits intruder with bed post during break-in at home</title>
<description>ha ck sent this to me, good job buddy, use a baseball bat next time they work good too ha

Green Bay Packers running back Noah Herron thwarted a would-be burglar by hitting him with a bed post during a break-in at his home.
Brown County Sheriff Dennis Kocken said Tuesday that the break-in happened late last Friday and the injured intruder remained hospitalized but is expected to recover.
"Noah Herron used necessary, reasonable and justifiable force in protecting his life and property," Kocken said in a statement. "Herron, the victim in this random home invasion, is cooperating with law enforcement."
Herron, 26, missed all of last season with a knee injury.
Chief Deputy John Gossage said Herron called police at 11:19 p.m. Friday after he heard glass breaking in the lower level of his suburban Green Bay home. He said an unknown number of people had entered the house.
One of the intruders entered Herron's bedroom, and Herron hit the person with a post he had unscrewed from his bed, Gossage said. Herron was not injured.
The injured burglar was taken to a hospital, and a second suspect was arrested outside the home, Gossage said.
Stolen property and a vehicle believed taken earlier Friday from another home were found near Herron's home, Gossage said. The two people in custody are suspects in numerous burglaries and home invasions throughout Brown County, he said.
Pittsburgh took Herron in the seventh round of the 2005 draft out of Northwestern. The Packers signed him off the Steelers' practice squad in 2005.
Packers general manager Ted Thompson released a statement Tuesday, saying the team knew about the break-in and had no comment.

<title>Return to Excellence: The Story of the Oakland Raiders</title>
<description>As the 2008 NFL season nears, the Oakland Raiders are in a period of transition. Since the Super Bowl in 2003, where they were destroyed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 48-21, the Raiders have compiled a 19-61 record. By far, this is the worst record of any team in that period, and having four different coaches won't help change that. On Jan. 22, 2007, the Raiders entered the era of head coach Lane Kiffin. A young, feisty but laid-back 33-year old (31 at the time of his hiring) was given the reins to the most storied franchise in the NFL, by one of the most influential owners in the league, Al Davis. Davis entrusted that Kiffin, the youngest coach in the modern era of the league, would turn the franchise around. Davis hoped that Kiffin would follow the lead some of the former young coaches he had hired, specifically Madden and Flores, who both led the Raiders to championships. Oakland ended Kiffin's first season with a 4-12 record and the fourth pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. But in Kiffin's first year, the Raiders had drafted the quarterback of the future, JaMarcus Russell, who despite holding out for an extended time, played well in his limit playing time. They also established a top-flight rushing attack under offensive line coach Tom Cable, as well as splashing signs of the potential to be a contender in the AFC West, as six games were decided by seven points or less.

<title>bet on it? agree or disagree</title>
<description>do you agree or disagree with these "predictions"

ha i think i'm becoming a yard junkie lol

That's truer than ever for the Oakland Raiders right now. Almost every dollar in team owner Al Davis' wallet has been spent in an attempt to overhaul a franchise that hasn't enjoyed a winning season since 2002. With one of those few checkpoints approaching -- the June 1 cuts -- let's take a moment to pause and make some predictions on what's ahead for the Raiders for the remainder of the offseason and into the regular season.

      <title>how sweet this is</title>
      <description>OAKLAND RAIDERS
This is nothing more than a wild hunch. Sure, the Raiders look to still be the most dysfunctional team in football. But they have plenty of talent on the roster and, no matter what Al Davis thinks, Lane Kiffin can coach.
JaMarcus Russell is as physically talented as any quarterback in the league and he's going to get to play this year.
And maybe the apparent chaos is part of Davis' master plan, if he's got one. Sometimes, when it seems like the rest of the world is against you, a team will pull together and surprise everyone.

ah how sweet readin this was. thanks ck for the article</description>
