UFC Eyeing Philippines, Germany, Australia

Filed under: Fighting, MMA, MMA/BoxingIn addition to its status as one of the fastest-growing sports organizations in the United States, UFC is increasingly looking to expand into foreign markets, with a very successful show in Canada last month and one scheduled in England next month. But UFC isn't stopping there. On a conference call Thursday to promote UFC 84, UFC President Dana White said he expects his organization to host shows in the Philippines, Germany and Australia soon, and that he's confident that mixed martial arts will be embraced in all three countries.As White sees it, MMA is an easy enough sport to understand that UFC won't have to expend nearly as much capital on educating foreign fans about the sport as, say, the NFL has spent trying to attract European fans.
