....the San Francisco 49ers represented by Fooch of Niners Nation select....Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston CollegeOne of the biggest areas of concern for the 49ers last year was the offensive line.  The team could not protect any of their quarterbacks and Frank Gore struggled to find open running lanes.  Joe Staley was one of the only good things to come out of the offensive line last year and the 49ers would like to capitalize on that.  Staley spent the season at right tackle, but the 49ers plan on moving him to left tackle to protect Alex Smith/Shaun Hill's blind side.  Cherilus spent most of his BC career at right tackle before switching to left tackle his senior season.  He struggled a little bit on the blind side and would be able to move back to his more natural right tackle position with the 49ers.  If he can take care of business at the next level, the 49ers would have their tackle positions set for the next decade. more...
