Bode Miller speaks out!

With only 3 races to go in the World Cup season, Bode Miller is leading the overall World Cup standings and has a good chance to win it all for the second time of his career. Unfortunately race organizers cancelled the last Downhill of the season in Bormio, Italy, which puts Miller at a disadvantage to maintain his lead. He was not very happy about the organizers' decision to cancel the race, and claimed it was strategy on the parts of the Austrian and Swiss coaches in order to give their athletes a better chance to overtake him for the overall crown. Both Didier Cuche of Switzerland, and Benjamin Raich of Austria are vying for the title as well. Check out what Bode had to say and the decision!

Controversy! Is there a lot of race manipulation to try and give an edge to certain competitors in skiing?

typically there isn't a lot of manipulation to give certain competitors an edge, but our sport is predominantly run by europeans and they tend to make decisions that suit there countrymen more than ours. every sport has some level of politics behind it and skiing is no different. i can't personally say how "bs" the call to cancel the race was because i wasn't there, but i can certainly understand Bode's frustrations and where he is coming from.

Bryon, I just realized they played your music in Bormio! Amazing, huh? :)

that's really cool, where did you hear it? was it at the race?

ORF showed an interview with Lindsey in Sport am Sonntag yesterday and you could hear it in the background - you are getting famous ;)

Nice to hear that someone recognized the music :)
Well, to explain the situation, it was two friends and myself who tried to convince the DJ to play it and we finally made it (in fact that took us about 1 day and several discussions… but in the end the DJ agreed :) ).
Actually the problem was that the music program was already planned so it was only possible to play it after the victory ceremony and between the two runs of slalom.
People around us definitely liked the music ;) !!!

Hopefully it's ok with you, Bryon. I mean we didn't ask you before if you would appreciate it. As we heard that you are in contact with Johno we tried to find him for asking him about his opinion on that but he wasn't in the finish area. Fortunately we saw Phil McNichol and he thought that it would be alright… he wasn't sure about that, but he said that it probably won't be a problem.
To prove it we made a few videos where you can hear the music in the background :). Well, although the time when they played it was a little bit late, it was awesome to hear your music in this surrounding :)
