Brest president Denis Le Saint suggested that Milan draw up ‘a convincing offer’ if they want to sign defender Lilian Brassier this month.

The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with the 24-year-old French centre back in recent weeks. He has 18 months left on his contract with the Ligue 1 side and has already given his green light for a move to the Lombardy capital.

Milan are hoping to pay around €10m for Brassier but Brest are hoping for a slightly higher fee in the region of €11-13m. With only a few weeks left in the January transfer market, talks need to progress soon if a deal is to be agreed.

Speaking to Prime Video via Calciomercato.com, Brest president Le Saint first made it clear that Brassier could be sold this month.

“There could be a new project for him immediately. The door for his departure is open. There are possibilities that he’ll leave and possibilities that he’ll stay with us, I don’t make it too much of a problem. If there are no right offers, we’re ready to keep him until the end of his contract.”

He underlined how interested parties, like Milan, will need to draw up a convincing offer for the 24-year-old defender.

“We’ll see if there will be any transfer opportunities in this January transfer window. But we need a convincing offer, also because Lilian has worked well with us in recent years and has grown, it’s a pleasure to know that he is followed by important clubs.”

Milan are also considering other options to bolster their defence, like Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno, but Brassier remains one of the cheaper options.
