Former Celtic star Odsonne Edouard has admitted that he is considering his next move as he continues to perform with Crystal Palace. With seven goals already this season, Edouard is attracting interest from around the Premier League as he enters the final eighteen months of his deal.

Palace signed Edouard in a deal worth between 18-19m Euros and should he move on, it is likely that Celtic would have a sell-on clause which they retain on players that depart, such as Virgil Van Dijk.

Speaking to Foot Mercato, via GFFN, Edouard admitted that he wants to one day make a move to one of the top European teams.

“My goal is to finish with the most amount of goals possible in the Premier League. I want to score every weekend before, why not, hoping for a new challenge by knocking on the door of the biggest European clubs.

He added that whilst his preference is to remain in the Premier League, he is open to other options. “For now, I am in the Premier League. I like life in England, I like the league. The ideal objective would be to stay in the Premier League. But I am an open person. I have already moved around quite a bit since the start of my career. But my goal is really to be in the biggest teams in Europe. That comes by scoring lots of goals, performing every weekend – in summary, putting in good performances with Crystal Palace.”

Edouard left Celtic in the summer of 2021 having scored 87 times and assisted 39 times for the club since arriving in a £9m deal back in 2017. Initially signed on a season-long loan, Edouard went from Celtic’s third choice behind Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths to a mainstay in the starting XI. He scored a brace as Celtic beat Rangers 5-0 to win 7IAR and conjured up some incredible moments during his time in the Hoops.

At various junctures in his Celtic career, Edouard was linked with a move to a number of top European teams. However, it never transpired and in that final summer at Celtic, Palace were the only ones willing to pay up for the Frenchman. Maybe his form in England this season will convince someone to take the 25-year-old.
