Chelsea ‘actively trying to sell’ player with 38 appearances already this season

Chelsea are reportedly actively trying to sell a player who has already clocked up 38 appearances across all competitions so far this season.

Sounds crazy when you put it like that. Why would Chelsea be actively trying to sell a player that plays so often for them?

Well, the answer of course is pure profit.

Conor Gallagher is a home grown player and represents a pure profit sale, if sold, meaning Chelsea fully profit from every penny they get from him.

And according to The Daily Mail, they are trying to sell him off this summer.

Of course, Chelsea cannot just keep spending money without looking to recoup it in player sales as well, that should just go without saying. But many Chelsea fans will be annoyed if Gallagher is sold regardless.

The Mail claim that sources at rival Premier League clubs tell them that Chelsea are ‘actively trying to sell’ their academy graduate Conor Gallagher this summer, with 12 months to run on his contract and any transfer fee booked as ‘pure profit’ in an FFP world.
