‘Enough is enough’ – Marcus Rashford hits back at critics over abuse

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has taken to social media to call out the abuse directed at him this season.

The 26-year-old often looks like he is going through the motions on the pitch and he is not playing at the level he produced last term. This has led to criticism but some of it has gone over the top, which is something we discussed on episode 197 of the Strettycast.

Rashford has now taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to hit back at those who had been abusive towards him.

“I appreciate your support,” he wrote in a response to a positive tweet defending him.

“It is abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough.”

After scoring 30 goals in Erik ten Hag’s first campaign as manager, Rashford has scored just twice in his last 10 Premier League matches. This season he has been nowhere near as productive.

Rashford has had his off-pitch problems this season too, though the only way he can get people back on side is by performing better on the pitch.

The forward missed United’s 4-2 win over Sheffield United on Wednesday night with a suspected injury after coming off against Coventry in the FA Cup semi-final victory.

It remains to be seen if Rashford will be fit enough to return against Burnley on Saturday. Otherwise, Ten Hag must decide between Antony and Amad Diallo to join Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho in United’s attack.
