Olivier Giroud’s future at AC Milan has, for a while, been unclear, and today, a report has given some insight into another offer the Frenchman received that would have seen him stay in Italy.

With Giroud’s contract expiring this summer, there were always going to be proposals made to him about where he wanted to take his future, and Milan themselves had offered the Frenchman an extension on his stay at the club, albeit with lessened game time.

However, due to the veteran still feeling up to playing at a high level consistently, he has chosen to move away from the club. Next season, he will play for Los Angeles FC, with confirmation from the club the only thing keeping it from being official.

Tuttosport (via Radio Rossonera) reported that Giroud had another option from an Italian side, though, from his former team-mate and current Como manager, Cesc Fabregas. The duo played together at Chelsea, and he would likely have asked Giroud to help the side in Serie A next season if his side get promoted.

Giroud is believed to have been interested in a move to America for some time, though, so the move to Los Angeles is perfect for him.
