Paris Saint-Germain had arguably its greatest year ever in 2020. The French powerhouse once again claimed a domestic treble and also appeared in its first-ever UEFA Champions League final. PSG came close to notching a quadruple, but in the end, it was still a grand year for Les Parisiens.

The International Federation of Football and History Statistics (IFFHS) recognized PSG for its historic year as it places the French side third in the final Club World Ranking 2020. FC Bayern Munich claimed the first-place honor while Brasileiro Serie A side SE Palmeiras topped out at second.

The determination to this ranking was based on a distribution of weighted points for wins in all competitions for the calendar year. For instance, a win in a UEFA Champions League match would net a team 12 points.

The same criteria was applied for domestic league and cup matches. For PSG, four points were given for each league win and 12 for every cup match win. For all competitions, points were also given out for draws as well.

Overall, PSG topped out at 226 points, which trailed Bayern (260) and Palmeiras (230).
