Juventus are considering a late cheap addition to their midfield and have tested the waters for Giacomo Bonaventura and Roberto Pereyra. They were rebuffed by Fiorentina and Udinese in both cases. The former is only technically on an expiring contract. There’s a clause to extend it automatically if he reaches a threshold of appearances. He’s on pace since he’s a fixture of their XI.

According to Goal’s Romeo Agresti, the Viola didn’t provide any opening to the departure of their staple. Instead, the Friulani asked for €3/4M. It’s hard to imagine the Old Lady would be willing to invest in an aging payer. He already spent two years with them back in the day.

Bonaventura and Pereyra were coached by Juventus boss Allegri in the past. The manager moved directly for the ex-Milan star. The Bianconeri proposed to send Fabio Miretti on loan to Tuscany, on top of granting the inside track to sign Matias Soulé for the summer. The answer didn’t change, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Turin-based club also asked for Lazar Samardzic on loan without an obligation to buy. Udinese shut the door quickly.

Our Take on Juventus, Bonaventura, and Pereyra

It probably took them Adrien Rabiot’s small injury to realize that their midfield couldn’t hold up as presently constituted. Somebody who could play as a no.10 would be ideal, as he’d sort of replace Moise Kean too. However, as evidenced by the underwhelming targets, they are really operating on a budget.
