According to Sky Sport Italia, Lazio have practically agreed terms to secure Emanuele Valeri as a free agent in the summer, but he could be loaned to Hellas Verona first.

The 25-year-old left-back is currently at Cremonese and his contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

With no signs of a renewal, Lazio are prepared to pounce and offered him a deal to join them for free in July 2024.

However, the same source reports that Cremonese are in negotiations to send Valeri to Hellas Verona on loan in January.

This could really benefit Lazio too, because he has not played at all in Serie B so far this season, largely due to that contract dispute.

Playing for six months in Serie A would give Valeri valuable experience, seeing as his only top flight games were with Cremonese last season.

He impressed that term, contributing two goals and three assists in 37 games.
