Lazio are open to the idea of selling bit part midfielder Marcos Antonio in the summer after his slow start to life in Rome.

The 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder arrived in the Italian capital last summer from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth around 9m total, adding a promising but relatively untested player to Maurizio Sarri’s squad.

Since his arrival, Marcos Antonio has struggled for consistent playing time under Sarri, seeing just 306 minutes of action across 11 Serie A appearances this season.

As reported by Il Tempo (via LazioNews24), Lazio would be open to selling Marcos Antonio in the summer should an acceptable offer arrive.

The Brazilian midfielder is contracted to the club until 2027 and could even generate a small profit in the summer transfer window.

For Shakhtar Donetsk, Marcos Antonio made 101 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing five assists, showing that he does have the talent to make his time in Rome positive.
