Lazio are ready to ship out unneeded midfielder Toma Basic on a six-month loan deal with no buy option attached.

The Biancocelesti looked a little inconsistent in the first half of the season but did well to qualify for the Champions League Round of 16, where they’ll face German giants Bayern Munich, who knocked them out at the same stage three years ago.

In Serie A, Lazio are still in the thick of the fight for Champions League qualification, sitting just a point behind fourth place Fiorentina, and have progressed to the Coppa Italia semi-finals after beating intercity rivals Roma last week.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio are now ready to send Basic to Salernitana this week after the two clubs reached a total agreement regarding a six-month loan deal with no buy option attached. He’s expected to undergo his medicals in Salerno on Wednesday before completing the move.

Basic joined Lazio from Bordeaux in the summer of 2021 in a deal worth around €7m and never looked particularly convincing in the Italian capital, seeing 70 appearances across the last three and a half years.
