This morning Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan returned to training to prepare for the match against Atalanta on Saturday, and some updates came on three injured players.

As reported by MilanNews, Rafael Leao played individual training on the field today. The Portuguese striker’s muscle injury has healed and now it’s just a matter of improving his athletic condition, so his condition will be monitored on day daily basis.

The same goes for Simon Kjaer too, as the Danish central defender also carried out personalised training on the pitch today in today’s session at Milanello. The objective is to have both players available again either for the trip to Atalanta or the game against Newcastle a few days after.

Marco Sportiello also returned to light training on the field. The second choice goalkeeper has been unavailable since 19 October due to an injury to the medial twin of his left calf. Having arrived in the summer, he registered two assists in the three appearances he had, conceding one goal.
