Monza coach Raffaele Palldino is happy for Carlos Augusto getting his move to Inter Milan, even if he’s sorry to be losing a player of the Brazilian’s quality.

Speaking in a press conference after his side went out of the Coppa Italia to Reggiana, as reported by FCInterNews, the Brianzoli coach gave his thoughts on the 24-year-old’s imminent transfer to the Nerazzurri.

Barring late surprises, Augusto should become an Inter player soon.

The Brazilian is reportedly undergoing his medicals today. He should therefore sign his contract and become an Inter player soon.

Gosens will make the switch as Robin Gosens heads for the exit door at the Nerazzurri, leaving to join Union Berlin.

Augusto makes for a fairly natural replacement for Gosens. The 24-year-old was one of Monza’s outstanding performers in Serie A last season, popping up with six goals and five assists for the Brianzoli as they achieved an impressive midtable finish.

Monza Coach Palladino On Carlos Augusto Transfer To Inter Milan

If the arrival of Augusto will give a boost to Inter, it will do the opposite for Monza.

The Brianzoli are losing a player who was key to them all through last season.

This does not mean that the Lombard side will not be able to replace Augusto.

However, for a coach like Palladino, it is never easy to replace a player like the 24-year-old. Like Inter, the Brianzoli play a system where the wingbacks have a heavy contribution to make on both sides of the ball.

“I love Carlos,” the coach said. “I love him because last season he had a great season.”

“On a personal level, I’m happy for him,” Palladino said of Augusto’s move to Inter.

“Even if as a coach, I’m sorry to see him go because we’re losing twelve goals from last season.”

“But that’s football. The club made a decision, and we wish him the best of luck.”
