After their first offer failed to convince, PAOK have now agreed a deal in principle with Lazio for Marcos Antonio.

The 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder failed to impress in his debut season in the Italian capital, seeing just 763 minutes of action across 22 total appearances. Whilst there were no doubts about his technical abilities, he struggled to fit into Maurizio Sarri’s midfield three.

PAOK proposed a deal worth around €4 million for Marcos Antonio but Lazio declined, wanting to earn a little more considering his €8 million price tag just a year ago.

As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, PAOK have now agreed to sign Marcos Antonio from Lazio on a loan deal with a €6.5 million buy option attached.

Claudio Lotito worked hard to try and make the clause an obligation to buy but his efforts were ultimately fruitless and the buy option was accepted.

Fenerbahce and Galatasaray tried to emerge with late interest in Marcos Antonio but PAOK have now won out and are set to welcome the 23-year-old in the coming days.
