Two unnamed Turkish clubs have emerged for Toma Basic, representing a possible last-minute escape for Lazio midfielder.

The 26-year-old Croatian midfielder has failed to impress under Maurizio Sarri over the last two seasons and has now ended up on the fringes of the project in the Italian capital.

Basic was linked with various clubs this summer but refused to accept a move away from Lazio, keen to try and earn his spot in Sarri’s squad. Matias Vecino’s decision to stay will only further limit his minutes, however.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, two unnamed Turkish clubs have emerged with late interest in Basic and could open talks with Lazio soon.

The 26-year-old has not yet opened up to a move away, but the fact that he was excluded from the registered Champions League squad may push him to change his mind.

Last season, Basic saw 894 minutes of action across 32 total appearances for Lazio.
