Igor Tudor held his first training session in charge of Lazio yesterday, explaining what he wants from his players and speaking closely to Luis Alberto in Formello.

The 45-year-old Croatian coach officially took over at the Biancocelesti on Monday, putting pen to paper on a one-year contract lasting until June 2025 with an option for a second year linked to sporting results.

Tudor spoke highly to Lazio’s media department when reflecting on his first 48 hours at the club and explained how he wants to play an attacking-minded football that exalts the qualities of his players, giving the team a fresh start after the Maurizio Sarri era.

Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) details how Tudor has no interested in pre-established hierarchies at Lazio and wants all the players to prove they deserve a spot in his starting line-ups, wanting to see consistency and dedication.

He privately took Luis Alberto to one side during the training session to talk closely to the Spanish playmaker, likely hoping he’ll play a key role in the system.

Tudor is now focused on finding which players he trusts and which he doesn’t over the next two months, setting the club up for a new cycle.
