Day of Upsets: Add Roddick to the List

Rafa's draw is tougher than most people have estimated: Nicolas Kiefer is no slouch on grass, and he just won a tune up event (OK, OK, it was an exhibition, but he beat Baghdatis, Wawrinka and Robredo). Kiefer can definitely give Nadal some headaches. And then there is Youzhny, who we all remember shocking Nadal at the US Open a few years ago. The grass is even better for his game.

Part of me thinks Gulbis taking a set from Rafa is a bad thing, because now he'll clean up his game even more and be even more focused in the next few rounds. Still, Kiefer's movement, all-court play, and general grass prowess followed up by a serving assault by Youzhny could very well make Rafa susceptible to an upset later (grass is good for Gasquet's game too...)

Yeah, Gasquet and Clement (the Frenchies) are move smoothly on the grass. Watchin' Haas-Murray right now, winner will prob play Gasquet. It WILL be interesting to see if Youzhny can shock Rafa again when they make the next round, and I think Safin could actually beat Bags!!
