The Anaconda has Arrived

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Anaconda has finally arrived on Yardbarker. Before I begin, a little about myself: I'm from Jersey. I'm a huge New York Rangers and New York Giants fan. I've been writing online about sports for years, either through blogs or other avenues. As always, I shall do my best to inform and entertain. Enjoy!

It's Sunday Morning, which only means one thing. NFL Week 3 baby! As usual, the NFL has shown that no matter how much discussing, researching, and watching you do in the offseason, there will always be unexpected happenings that will leave you scratching your head (or emptying your wallet...). Did anyone think the Saints would come out, vs the Colts and Bucs no less, and look more like an NFL Europa Team? Same thing for the Eagles, going 0-2 vs Washington and Green Bay? Every year, highly projected players perform poorly and poorly projected players perform highly.

I should note, The Anaconda is an avid fantasy football player, and I'll try to give some tips, or at least ideas to think over and do with them whatever you please. Think of it as little nuggets of fantasy insight. Gold Nuggets, Cicken Nuggets...whatever floats your boat.

Devery Henderson - WR, NO: Devery hurt all his owners last week by posting a nice big zero, causing him to get dropped in many leagues. I wouldn't act so rash...yet. Monday Night is the Saints home opener versus the Titans, and it could and should be a shootout. That will benefit Henderson, who will face a weaker Titans seconday. This is a key week for Devery; if he fails to produce again, all of his owners will need to examine their league's waiver wire and see if their isn't a better option available.

Mark Clayton - WR, BAL: One could argue no wide reciever hurt his fantasy owners more than Mark Clayton. One catch through 2 games, for -1 yards is tough to swallow for a wide reciever that was probably starting in most 10-12 team leagues. However, as further research would show, Clayton has had an ankle sprain since camp, and only returned to practice the week before week 1. He is still recovering, while being brought back and worked in slowly. While I would not start him quite yet, his owners should keep with him even is he posts a few more terrible stat lines, as he should be back to form by mid-season. If he is on your league's waiver wire, grab him immediatly.

Well, that's it for today. Check back soon for my next entry, and as always, your comments are appreciated. Thanks for reading.
