No more Pacman? Jones wants to drop nickname

That would be the preference of Adam Jones, the suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback who has been known by the nickname throughout his life. He'd like to be called by his given name and make "Pacman" a thing of the past.

"There's really just a lot of negativity behind it," Jones said. "It's just time for a change, man. I'm doing everything to make sure that I'm all right as a person, mentally and emotionally."

Jones missed all the 2007 season with the Tennessee Titans while serving his NFL suspension that has not been completed lifted. The Cowboys acquired Jones from the Titans for draft picks in April.

While he was on the practice field with the Cowboys the last three weeks, Jones might have to wait until the week before Dallas' Sept. 7 opener to find out if commissioner Roger Goodell will let him play during the regular season.

After speaking to about 60 kids at a basketball camp hosted by Dallas Mavericks forward Brandon Bass on Saturday, Jones expressed his desire to drop his nickname.

The kids at the camp called out "Pacman Jones! Pacman Jones!" after he spoke to them. But he signed autographs with his given name, not the nickname given to him by his mother when he was an infant.

"My mom is going to call me 'Pacman.' That is what it is. I can't change that," Jones said. "I'm not saying that my teammates won't call me 'Pacman' on the field. But for the most part, I want to be Adam or Mr. Jones."

Rosters handed out by the Cowboys during their mandatory minicamp last week listed No. 21 as "Pacman Jones," based on what he had initially told team officials.

When Jones conducted his only extensive interview at the Cowboys' facility June 4, the first week he was cleared by Goodell to practice with the team, he gave no indication that he planned to forsake his nickname.

Jones had told reporters that he'd talk Thursday after the end of minicamp, the last organized on-field sessions for Cowboys until they report July 24 to training camp in Oxnard, Calif. But there was no media access after coach Wade Phillips canceled the final scheduled practice and replaced it with family day activities.

Jones was suspended in April 2007 following an accumulation of arrests and legal problems, including his connection to a shooting at a Las Vegas strip club. He's been arrested six times and involved in 12 incidents requiring police intervention since being drafted in the first round by Tennessee in 2005.

Meanwhile, Jone's name has recently appeared in the news. A woman involved in the Las Vegas brawl was found dead last week behind a building in the Bronx, a borough of New York City. Officers found her unresponsive with injuries consistent with a fall.

The woman, 26-year-old Sadia Morrison, had pleaded no contest to a felony battery charge last year in Las Vegas. Jones pleaded no contest to a disorderly conduct charge in Las Vegas after police said he incited the melee.

Back in Tennessee, a foreclosure sale was published involving Jones' home and 30 acres in a Nashville suburb. The home and land are scheduled to be sold Friday on the courthouse steps. Tax records show Jones purchased the property in July 2006 for $1.5 million, but he defaulted on the terms and conditions of a mortgage.

Jevon Kearse charged with DUI

Tennessee Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop near the Vanderbilt University campus.

Vanderbilt spokesman Jim Patterson said Kearse was stopped early Sunday morning after campus police reported seeing the SUV that Kearse was driving weaving across the road.

Patterson says Kearse took a field sobriety test, but refused a breathalyzer. He was arrested and charged with DUI and violation of Tennessee's implied consent law for failing to take the breathalyzer test. Officials said Kearse was released later in the morning.

A call to the Titans was not immediately returned. A spokesman for Kearse's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Kearse had no comment.

Kearse, the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1999 with the Titans, re-signed with the club in the offseason after spending the last four years with the Philadelphia Eagles.

In an 0-for-23 slide, star second baseman Chase Utley gets rare night off By: Ken Mandel

After an 0-for-23 skid that sank Chase Utley's average to .291 -- it had been .325 on June 3 -- Phillies manager Charlie Manuel opted to rest his star second baseman to clear his head.

On Saturday against the Angels, Utley didn't start for the first time since Sept. 2, 2007, against the Marlins, a string of 101 consecutive games.

The conversation between the two was short, with Utley giving his manager a look.

"He gave me a no-like look," Manuel said. "Chase doesn't ever want to come out of the lineup. I decided to rest him tonight."

Though his average is solid and he's second in the Major Leagues with 22 home runs, Utley has batted .227 during 18 June games. Many of his outs have been on the ground, though he showed signs of progress be rifling line drives for outs on Friday.

Utley is hitting .158 in his past 15 games, with one homer, 10 RBIs, five walks, 10 strikeouts and three extra-base hits.

Manuel said Utley will play on Sunday, then the Phils have an off-day on Monday as the team flies to Oakland to begin a three-city road trip.

Manuel thought about resting Utley on Tuesday against Boston's Jon Lester, but he allowed Utley to talk his way into the lineup. This time, there was no getting around it.

"I think Chase is fine," Manuel said. "Mentally, he gets tired, wore down, and that's to be expected. I think [Shane] Victorino gets that way. That's why I rest him sometimes. Players get that way, especially the ones that put a lot of preparation into it. They practice hard and are high-energy players. Mentally, they get wore down."

Manuel said he wouldn't hesitate to use Utley as a pinch-hitter in a key situation Saturday, but he would rather give his second baseman the full game off. Eric Bruntlett made his first start of the season at second base and first start since May 8. The last time Chase Utley didn't start a game was Sept. 2, 2007, against the Marlins.

Utley chose not to speak about his benching, relating through a team spokesman that he was taking a day off from everything.

Fan-Demonium: No No. 1? No Worries Here By: Tommy Lawlor

Eagles fans have been borderline obsessed with the notion of a No. 1 wide receiver since about 2000. Charles Johnson was solid, but nothing special. Neither James Thrash nor Todd Pinkston developed into a top player. Freddie Mitchell …I think calling his career a disappointment would be fair. Donté Stallworth showed a lot of potential, but had limited production. Reggie Brown is still a mystery. Kevin Curtis looked very good in his first season as an Eagle. We'll talk more about him.

Terrell Owens is the only guy who flat out played like a star receiver in that time span. He was dominant in 2004. His play was much more up and down in the bizarre 2005 season. Unfortunately, T.O. went T.O. and that ended his time in Philly.

So exactly what is a No. 1 receiver? There is no definitive answer. There are several factors that I look at. Production is obviously a key. The guy also needs to be a playmaker. Certainly the receiver needs to be a very clutch player. He has to be very good on a consistent basis. It isn't just a case of someone being a star. Not every team has one. In my mind, a No. 1 receiver should be special.

Some of the guys around the league that I think do fit in the category are Owens, Plaxico Burress, Steve Smith, Marques Colston, Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald, Torry Holt, Randy Moss, Chad Johnson, Braylon Edwards, Hines Ward, Andre Johnson, Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. I left off a few players who might surprise some people. I know some fans will think that Lee Evans, Roy Williams, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Santana Moss belong on the list. I left them out because they come up short in some area. I do think each of them has a lot of talent and is just a notch below the first group. Young receivers like Greg Jennings, Brandon Marshall and Dwayne Bowe each have the potential to make the list if they continue to play at a high level.

Let's go back to my criteria. We'll start with production. There isn't one specific category that is the key. You want a No. 1 receiver to catch plenty of passes. He doesn't necessarily need to have 90 or 100 receptions a year, but you can't have that guy bringing in only 40 to 50 passes. A good target number is 75.

Tommy Lawlor, goeagles99 on the Discussion Boards, is an amateur football scout and devoted Eagles fan. He's followed the team for almost 20 years. Tommy has been trained by an NFL scout in the art of scouting and player evaluation and runs www.scoutsnotebook.com.

The other two main stats are yards per reception and touchdowns. Those are part of production, but also show how much of a playmaker the guy is. A No. 1 receiver can't just move the chains. He needs to come up with big plays. He also has to catch touchdowns. About 14.0 is a good average for yards per catch. This stat can be complicated. The more passes you catch, the potential for your average to shrink increases. Even a stud receiver can't come up with big gains on every catch. The more passes a player brings in, the more likely he is to have an average down around 11 or 12 yards per catch. In 2006, Stallworth averaged more than 19 yards per catch. The problem is that he only caught 38 passes. That just isn't enough production.

As for scoring, ideally you'd like a guy to catch 10 or more touchdowns in a season. It doesn't matter whether the scores came on deep bombs, fade passes, or simple slants. A No. 1 receiver gets to the end zone on a regular basis. I can live with a guy only catching eight or nine touchdowns in some years, but lower than that becomes a concern unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Consistency is another factor. You want a receiver to put up good numbers year in and year out, week in and week out. You want him to make plays all year long, not just in a handful of games. Teams need to know they can count on a No. 1 receiver. Good games and big plays are not surprises. They are expected.

Earlier I mentioned a No. 1 receiver needing to be a clutch player. When it is 3rd down and it is late in the game, it shouldn't matter that a player is facing a great cornerback or that he's double-teamed or that the opponent knows the ball is coming his way. Big-time receivers come up big when it counts.

I also think a No. 1 receiver should be someone that opposing defenses fear. They should need to gameplan to try and contain the player. Some receivers might get the job done with speed. Some are very quick and elusive. Some guys are big and strong. It doesn't matter how they do it. You simply want the defense to be nervous anytime a throw goes that receiver's way. Is this going to be a big gainer? Is this a clutch catch that will move the chains? Is this going to be a touchdown?

Kevin Curtis recently talked about being a No. 1 receiver. I do not think he fits the above description. In his defense, he did put up good numbers despite getting very up and down quarterback play from Donovan McNabb and A.J. Feeley. I'm curious to see what Curtis can do in 2008 with McNabb hopefully staying healthy all year long and playing at a high level. I think Curtis could put up 80 catches, 1,100 yards, and 10 touchdowns. The biggest problem he had in 2007 was inconsistency. Curtis looked like a Hall of Fame player against the Lions. He was very quiet in some other games. I'm sure part of that is on the quarterbacks, but the best receivers overcome that and make the players around them better. We'll just have to wait and see what Curtis does in 2008.

I think a lot of fans underestimate how good Reggie Brown can be, but I'm not sure that he'll ever play like a true No. 1 receiver. Brown's biggest problem is also a lack of consistency. There are times when he looks really good. He made a terrific adjustment on a deep ball from McNabb in the second Washington game and gave us a 45-yard touchdown. Brown caught a clutch third-down pass late in the Jets game that helped us to keep the ball and run out the clock. There are times when you see him play like a very good receiver. Unfortunately there are also too many drops. He also has gotten off to a very slow start the last couple of seasons. That has to change.

The ironic thing about all of this is that teams don't need a No. 1 receiver in order to play at a high level or win a Super Bowl. Since 2000 the Ravens, Buccaneers and Patriots have won titles without having elite receivers. Each team did have very good role players. They also had very good defenses. The Patriots are the most interesting team. They won three Super Bowls in four years with a good group of receivers, but no true stars. Deion Branch, David Givens, David Patten and Troy Brown made up a good receiving corps.

They functioned well as a unit and with Tom Brady throwing the passes. The top three all left for big contracts. Patten was a huge bust in Washington. Givens got hurt and did very little for the Titans. Branch cost the Seahawks a first-round pick and has delivered them only eight touchdowns in two years. I'm not sure that is what they were looking for.

With this foursome, the Patriots won three titles. They replaced this group with a much more talented bunch in Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Stallworth and Jabar Gaffney. The new guys helped the Patriots set several NFL records in 2007. Despite all the regular season success, that group came up short in the Super Bowl. The better set of receivers delivered the undefeated regular season, but no ring. The ""solid"" group of receivers helped make Tom Brady and Bill Belichick the legends they are today.

You don't need star receivers to win. You do need guys who know their roles and play up to their talent. The Eagles foursome of Brown, Curtis, Jason Avant and rookie DeSean Jackson has talent. Soon enough we'll find out just how good those guys are. A big year from the foursome will go a long way to the Eagles getting back to the postseason.

I know some fans still hold hope that the team will trade for a stud receiver. Don't count on it. Focus on the guys already here. With a potentially stifling defense and a running back combination of Brian Westbrook and Lorenzo Booker, I don't think that the Eagles will need great receiver play.

Irving Fryar was a top-flight receiver back in 1996 and 1997. Terrell Owens was great in 2004. The Eagles will land another No. 1 receiver. Trust me. If NASA can find water on Mars, the Eagles can find a stud receiver. Heck, maybe Curtis will have a huge year. Maybe DeSean Jackson will exceed expectations. Or maybe the Eagles will run the ball so much we'll all just forget about wide receivers. Just making sure you're paying attention with that last one.

MLB World Series Predictions

So who do you think will be contenders for the World Series this year? I know mine. For the N.L. right now the Cubs are doing awesome with a 47-28 record as of right now and Ryan Dempster with an 8-2 pitching record. Derrek Lee has been doing good with 15 homers also. But that is not my pick. You might not agree but my pick is the Philadelphia Phillies. They might have a lower record from the Cubs (42-33) but there doing fine. They have three very good pitchers. Ace Cole Hamels coming in a 7-4 record same record with Jamie Moyer and Kyle Kendrick 6-3 record. The Phillies are known for there explosive offense. Chase Utley you may say that he is in a 0 for 20 Slump but he'll work his way out of it. Look at the biggining of the year. Utley Blasted 12 Homers for the month of April and has 22 Homers right now. Ryan Howard yes I know he strikes out a lot. But he been hittin homers to with 19 on the year. Pat Burrell is doing remarkable same with Brad Lidge having 18 Saves already. Now on to A.L. Three teams have doing to great Tampa Bay Rays, Boston Red Sox, and Los Angeles/Anaheim Angels. Out of those three I think the Red Sox will repeat back to the World Series. I'm not an A.L. fan and I watch N.L. more then A.L. so I don't know much about A.L. But that's what I'm predicting because they have the best record in A.L. 46-30. So here is what I think the World Series will be Red Sox Vs. Phillies. I think this will go down to game 7 the last game in the series. But I think the Phillies will take it in the end barely with a 5-3 victory in game 7. That's my prediction. Tell me what's yours in a comment below.

Sixers Shock the NBA!!!

76ers came with a awesome win at the Pistons Palace. Nobody thought or even gave them a chance to win. They did choke on some free throws and other things but they pulled it off. Being away on the Pistons court was also a shock they won. Reggie Evans was player of the game with 11 points and 14 rebounds. DOUBLE DOUBLE Reggie Evans!

Reid Touches All Bases In Combine Kickoff - By: Dave Spadaro

I did not write this. Dave Spadaro Eagles News reporter did. Head coach Andy Reid arrived at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday and sat down with the Philadelphia-area reporters on hand and touched on a variety of subjects -- the Combine and draft process, what the Eagles need to do in the offseason to vault back to the top of the NFC East, quarterback Donovan McNabb and even the league's ongoing "Spygate" case involving the New England Patriots.

Reid, who missed last year's Combine as he took his leave of absence from the team to attend to family matters, is looking forward to reaching out and meeting this year's draft prospects. The Eagles have 60 interviews, 15 minutes each in length, lined up for the next week.

"It's part of the whole judgment process that you go through," said Reid. "You have an opportunity to talk to these kids, as programmed as they might seem to be through their agents, you still get a little idea about their personality. Then you get to see them run around a little bit. I'm not sure how much stock you put in that because it's really not playing the game but you get a chance to sit down and ask them questions. They really don't know what you're going to ask. They can't have them prepared for every question you ask. Then you get a chance to develop an opinion on what kind of people they are.

alt

Head coach Andy Reid

"I still believe the most important thing is how they play on the field."

Reid acknowledged that only rarely do players make dramatic leaps up and down the already in-place draft board that the Eagles have. The idea here is to spend as much time as possible around the players to learn as much about them as possible.

Of course, this is an especially busy time in the NFL. Agents are huddled with players and team personnel are all over the RCA Dome and the adjoining hotel trying to glean any bit of knowledge they can with free agency starting next week -- Friday, February 29 at 12:01 a.m., to be exact -- and with the draft right around the corner.

Reid provided bits and pieces of the Eagles' philosophy moving forward, although he provided no concrete answers as to which direction the team will take in both free agency and the draft. Here is an overview of what Reid had to say, first in a 34-minute interview with reporters and then a 13-minute interview with cameras on him ...

On the increased use of the franchise tag on potential free agents: "Guys are being tagged every day. We'll know over the next nine days or so (who is available in free agency). I guess you put your wish list together and then it kind of dwindles its way down depending on how things go with all the tags and then you get into all the competition to get guys here. People have money right now, with the way the cap is. There is a little more money in the pot for them to spend. Teams are finding that they can keep a guy around for another year or two by tagging him."

On TE L.J. Smith's reaction after being tagged: "He has been good. He has been around every day working out. He's been fine. I think the thing is that we kind of kept him up front about it, both he and his agent. We didn't surprise him with it. It wasn't something that kind of came out of the blue. If you read the comments from the players who have been tagged, they don't seem to mind. It doesn't seem to be a big deal. I don't know why that's changed. Maybe it's because they are making a lot of money.

On the rumors that CB Lito Sheppard was given permission to seek a trade: "You hear things, especially at this time of the year, and I don't know how they get started. Then they get running and they seem bigger than what they are. I talked to Lito after the season and then he was in town until a couple of weeks ago. I don't think it's anything. I don't get into all of that. He is a good player when he is out there. We just have to keep him healthy."

On the state of the cornerback position on the team: "I feel good about it. It was good to see Jose ( Joselio Hanson) step up there and I thought he played well. I feel OK with it. I'm always going to look at the corner positions, like I do with the lines. I'm going to keep a close eye on it.'

On the pool of free agents upcoming and the ability to get better immediately: "There are going to be good players out there. It narrows down, but there will be players out there whether it's through the draft or in free agency. I'll tell you what we've done, and it's a tribute to Joe (Banner) and Howie (Roseman, Vice President of Football Administration), we've maintained a lot of players here through contracts. That is a positive thing. We can go out and compete this next year without signing anybody and win a lot of football games. We can compete for a championship. But we'll keep our eyes open."

On the success of free agency: "I don't think it's bad to add a guy here or there, but the last three Super Bowl winners have signed one guy, and that was a kicker ( Adam Vinatieri, Colts). The success rate of free agency has not been tremendous. I think you have to be selective on who you bring in and not get caught thinking the grass is greener on the other side and bring a guy in that you get so enthralled with. Then you see him and he's not all that and one of your guys is better, one of your young guys who you developed."

On retaining GM Tom Heckert: "It's good to have him here. I thought it was kind of a slam dunk, him going there (to the Atlanta Falcons). I know they really liked him. He does a good job. That's what helped me last year when I wasn't here, the work that Tom, Jason Licht, the scouts and the coaches did. They did a great job quizzing the guys."

On his feelings about the team's young talent: "I kind of look forward to getting some of these guys on the field. I would have liked to have gotten the (Victor) Abiamiri's and the (Tony) Hunt's on the field a little bit more. (Stewart) Bradley, too. (Chris) Gocong showed improvement throughout the year. (Akeem) Jordan, he came out of nowhere and was a pretty good player at the end. So, yeah, I'm looking forward to that."

On the strength of the NFC East: "I think that's aweome. I love that. That's why we do this thing. It keeps you sharp. It keeps you aggressive and competitive. It helps you throughout the year, even during this period. You always look at things closely; now you look at things closer. You want to be sitting on top of the NFC East when it's said and done, be in the playoffs, win the (NFC) Championship, go to the Super Bowl and win that thing. People will tell you that when you have to play each team twice, you beat yourselves up. I think the Giants proved that wrong this year. I still believe the team that is healthiest and on the roll at the end of the year, who is playing the best at the end of the year has the best shot of winning. We were one of those teams, but we didn't take care of business before those last three games. If we could have picked off a couple of those other games, I thought we were as hot as anybody at the end there."

On the lesson the Giants' Super Bowl provided: "You keep battling the whole season. It's so long. I know I'm always hammering you guys on the one-game-at-a-time approach, but the thing about the Giants' season is that had they not taken that approach, their season is out the window. Then you get on a roll and you hope it is that last quarter of the season, that last half of the season."

On the defense forcing more turnovers: "We were last in the league in turnovers. There are some stats that blow you away, and turnovers are one of them. You've got to create those. That is one of our offseason projects that we're addressing. What did we do in the past or what did teams do in the past? Some of it is that that we had two guys who have been pretty big turnover guys in (Brian) Dawkins and Lito and both of them were banged up a little bit."

On simply saying the defense will be fine with a healthy Dawkins and Sheppard: "You can't do that. You have to go back and look at the scheme part of and what are teams doing to you that are giving you problems. Whatever it might be. There are a bunch of different things you look at, without getting into it now."

On the front four defensively: "Everybody is better on the back end when the front four are smoking. When those guys are coming off the ball and causing problems, that makes your corners, safeties, linebackers -- it makes them all better. We need to up our sack total. We need to get that up there, along with our pressures and our hurries. I thought (tackle Mike) Patterson improved there. I thought (end Trent) Cole improved there. J.T. ( Juqua Thomas), he was able to -- he didn't have a lot of sacks -- but he was able to put some pressure on the quarterback. He can do better. And then (Jevon) Kearse, if he comes back healthy, he can put pressure on the quarterback. We have to make sure he's ready to roll."

On the defense: "We need to get better between the 20's. It's great to have the best red zone team ... but let's stay out of the red zone. Let's not get in there that many times, because they're going to come out with points. We can do a better job there. There are things that we have to go back and evaluate and we have to make sure that everybody has an aggressive mindset."

On the ongoing investigation of the Patriots' "spygate": "I believe they beat us fair and square in the Super Bowl. I don't know what they did. I don't know. I like Bill Belichick. He's a friend. You can't know exactly what a team is doing. You're changing your signals all the time. On the offensive side, where they (Patriots defense) made plays, they couldn't hear me talking to the quarterback. They don't know what you're going to call. You have 200 plays on the game plan sheet. If they can figure it out, they're really good."

On whether it would bother him if a team taped his walk-through practice: "I don't show anything there anyways. You are in that big stadium and there is not a thing I show. Matter of fact, there are things I show that I don't run. You have had the guys out there practicing for two weeks. You get all of that done before. Now, if they were filming, sitting up in apartments (near the NovaCare Complex) filming our practice, then it would be different. I'd worry about that. That would bother me."

On if it's possible to film defensive signals during a game and then make halftime adjustements: "Yeah, it's possible. That's do-able. On defense, you are calling some of the same things over and over. It's not like on offense where you may never run the same play twice. On defense, you are repeating things all the time."

On how ready the Eagles are for the offseason ahead: "There has been a lot of time spent, and we had a lot of time with the way the season ended without the playoffs, and we've been in there and as we go day by day here, players are being taken off the board in free agency as they are tagged. However, we feel very good about the process we've gone through, we feel very good about the players that are still out there as of today and we look forward to getting the free-agency period started. Not that we're going to go hog wild, I think history has shown us that that is not really the way to go. But adding a guy here or there is OK. I think we've done a great job with drafting good, young players and we were able to get some of those guys in the game toward the end of the season. I look forward to having those guys mature maybe even more than bringing in free agents."

On recruiting free agents: "Money is one thing and people can compete with the money part of it now. The thing you've got to have is that coaching staff and you've got to have a place that player wants to go to, money aside, day in and day out year round. That is something that we can present to a player. We've got this fantastic facility thanks to the Luries. They have given us a chance to create this workplace that I think is second to none in the National Football League. We've got quality players that are very well respected around the league, veteran players, players that players want to play with. I think those are all positives. As the money goes up, you have to have one more thing that you can give that player and I think that we have that.'

On McNabb through the 2007 season looking at 2008: "We knew Donovan would have to work through the knee. Donovan knew that. Time and experience with that injury have shown that throughout the history of the National Football League. Donovan did that. There is no easy way around that. It's not going to be pretty early and hopefully it's going to be pretty later. Thank goodness Donovan was ahead of schedule and had worked so hard to put himself in that position. He finished the season up strong. We were one of the hotter teams in the National Football League when it was all said and done and a lot of that is the way Donovan played. I thought he played championship-caliber football down the stretch. He felt physically like he could do that. That long run against New Orleans, he couldn't have done that earlier in the year. It just wasn't going to happen. I look forward to '08. I think he will pick up right where he left off and continue to be even better than that, which is ahead of where most people are."

On the strength in the April draft: "I think it's a pretty good draft all the way around. I think the juniors add a little more zing. I would say, 'Where is the draft light?' I'm not sure there is a position where you go, 'It's not very good.' I think there are a bunch of cornerbacks, a bunch of linemen on both sides of the ball, you've got some great linemen. There is a nice group of receivers. I think it's going to be pretty good draft."

On being in a position of strength with so many draft picks: "I believe we are. This is one of those years that you are glad that you have a lot of picks. You should be able to pull some quality players from out of the draft."

Eli Manning Coverboy Madden NFL 09

The Rumor is out Eli Manning will be on the cover of Madden NFL 09. Now do you think the EA Sports team made a good choice. I agree with there choice. Eli Manning was the MVP of the Super Bowl and took his 10-6 (Record) team from the wild card to the Super Bowl in the playoffs. He beaten the 18-0 Patriots to give them the record of 18-1. Eli will get hurt next year because of the madden curse. Every year a player is named to the cover of the case and every year the player get's hurt. What do you think about Eli Manning on the cover on the Madden Case.

I think the Philadelphia Eagles Should do this

I think they should trade for Gibril Wilson THEY NEED A BETTER SAFETY. Sean Considine is good but they need better and Brian Dawkins is getting old. Or maybe they should draft one. I think they need a better 3rd string Cornerback. Will James Didn't do to good this year. Trade for Antonio Cromartie. He'll be perfect. NEW QB! McNabb didn't do to pretty. HE GETS HURT EVERY FRICKEN YEAR! START KEVIN KOLB or get someone better. I still think they shouldn't of gotten rid of Jeff Garcia or Middle Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter. Last say use the draft picks wisely.
