Bradley goes after Royals announcer

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)-- Milton Bradley stormed out of the Texas Rangers clubhouse after an 11-5 victory Wednesday night over Kansas City and bounded up four flights of stairs looking for Royals television announcer Ryan Lefebvre.

Bradley, who was the designated hitter, heard what he considered derogative remarks made by Lefebvre on a TV in the Rangers clubhouse.

General manager Jon Daniels and manager Ron Washington were close behind and intercepted Bradley before he reached Lefebvre.

"I don't want to get necessarily into the details," Daniels said. "He was upset. Someone who doesn't know him was passing judgment on TV. It was obvious he was hurt by the comments."

Bradley never reached Lefebvre, although he was within about 20 feet of him in the TV booth before being led back down to the clubhouse.

"There was no incident," Daniels said.

Upon returning to the clubhouse, Bradley screamed at teammates and broke down in tears.

"I'm tired of people bringing me down," Bradley said. "It wears on you. I love you guys, all you guys. I'm strong, but I'm not that strong. All I want to do is play baseball and make a better life for my kid than I had."

Several of Bradley's teammates consoled him after he calmed down.

Lefebvre, who is the son of former major league manager Jim Lefebvre, said he met with Daniels and Washington about his on-the-air comments, but did not talk to Bradley. Lefebvre said the comments were intended to praise Josh Hamilton, who missed nearly four years of professional baseball with cocaine and alcohol additions, rather than tear down Bradley.

"It was a conversation about how Josh Hamilton has turned his life around and has been accountable for his mistakes," Lefebvre told The Associated Press. "Right now, it seems like the baseball world and fans are rooting for him. ... It doesn't seem like Milton Bradley has done the same thing in his life."

The oft-injured Bradley has a history of losing his temper.

He slammed a plastic bottle at the feet of a fan in the right-field seats at Dodger Stadium in 2004 after someone threw it on the field. With San Diego in the pennant chase last September, he tore the ACL in his right knee when he was spun to the ground by Padres manager Bud Black, who was trying to keep him from an umpire.

He was suspended for five games after slamming the bottle, and had a four-game suspension for tossing a bag of balls onto the field after an ejection. There was a dugout confrontation with Cleveland manager Eric Wedge during spring training in 2004 before getting traded to Los Angeles.

Bradley claimed umpire Mike Winters baited the player into the confrontation and directed a profanity at him last September. Winters was suspended the final five days of the regular season and didn't work the postseason.

"We weren't singling out Milton Bradley," Lefebvre said. "We also spent a lot of time complimenting Milton Bradley, but that's not what he heard when he was in the clubhouse.

"We weren't tearing up Milton Bradley. I told (Washington and Daniels) this wasn't a Milton Bradley rip session, but just based on the pictures we've seen in this series of him walking to the dugout all the way to right field, dropping his bat, making gestures to the fans in right field and above the dugout and taunting them. He's the only person in baseball I know that does that type of stuff."

Chamberlain Improves as well as The Yankees

The Yankees are starting to improve as Joba is getting his arm strength up for his new role as a starting pitcher. Even though he has a record of 1-2 and an ERA of 2.67 he is beginning to learn how important he will be in acouple of years for the Yankees. The Yankees are currently 32-31 and 6.5 games from first in the AL East. With Jason Giambi and Alex Rodriguez doing well, the Yankees are beginning to look like a playoff contending team in the AL East. Yesterday, Joba went 4.1 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Joba is starting to become one of the best young prospects in the major leagues now.

Should Tynes be Cut?

I think that Lawrence Tynes should be cut off the New York Giants after Super Bowl XLII because he is so inconsistant and is just as bad a s Jay Feely. What do you think about Lawrence Tynes?

Giant Step for New York

What a game! The Cowboys thought they could pull a third victory against the Giants in the same season. Eli Manning went 12-18 with 163 passing yards 2 TD's. Amani Toomer was a great factor for the Giants key victory with 4 receptions for 80 yards and 2 TD's. The Giants will now go to Green Bay and play the Packers in the NFC Championship. The winner will advance to the Super Bowl. Once again, Congradulations to Eli Manning and his team with a 9-1 road record this year.

Are the Patriots considered the best team in the NFL?

Are the Patriots considered the best team in the NFL ever? Well, I personally dont think so because the 1972 Dolphins only had to play 14 regular season games and had 3 playoff games. If the Patriots want to ever be considered the best team in the NFL they have to win this year's Super Bowl and then they can have all the bragging rights that they want.

Playoffs Week 2 Prediction

As I went 3-1 last week with the first week of the postseason ending, the Washington Redskins lost to the Seattle Seahawks. Todd Collins didnt do as well as I thought he would and was probably nervous. It is hard to win in Seattle. Here are my week 2 playoff predictions

Game of the week: New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys - This should be a great match up considering the fact that T.O. is uncertain for this week's game. Eli Manning has thrown 6 TD's and 1 Interception in the last 2 games. This will be the Giant's third time facing the Cowboys this season. They 8-1 on the road this season including the playoffs. The score will be 24-17 Giants

Upset of the Week: Jacksonville Jaguars vs New England Patriots - The Jaguars are one of the hottest teams in the NFL and Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew have been very productive. If the Jaguars can stop Laurence Maroney and the run against the Patriots, they will force the Patriots to pass. Even though Randy Moss led the league with 23 TD's receptions and Wes Welker had 112 receptions and tied for first with T.J. Houshmandzadeh, they will eventually find out their offense and shut them down forcing them to run the ball more and the Jaguars run defence has been great this year even with the injuries of Mike Peterson and Marcus Stroud.

The score to this game will be 31-28 Jaguars.

Seattle Seahawks vs Green Bay Packers: The Packers have been a surprise to me this year. With Brett Farve growing older, his skills get better and better each year. He has been very productive this year with 28 TD's passes and 15 interceptions. He has many options down the field such as Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, and Donald Lee. Ryan Grant also came into the big league and had 956 rushing yards with 188 carries and 8 TD's. Although he was drafting by the Giants in 2006 he has had a successful year on Green Bay this season. The score to this game will be 24-14 Green Bay.

San Diego Chargers vs Indianapolis Colts: Phillip Rivers and Ladainian Tomlinson didnt look great against the Tennessee Titans last week but Vincent Jackson and Chris Chambers did. Even though Jackson and Chambers had at least 100 reception yards each, it still wont be enough to pass the Colts this week. Peyton Manning and his whole spread of receivers he has to pass to is sick. He has the option of passing to Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, rookie Anthony Gonzalez, and Marvin Harrison if he is healthy. While Joseph Addai had a great season, the Colts rushing game isnt bad too. Even though the Colts have lost plenty of their defensive starters, they still have the spirit to possibly be Super Bowl Champions again if the Patriots lose. The score to this game will be 34-17 Colts

My Pre-Super Bowl prediction is Green Bay Packers vs Indianapolis Colts 27-21 Colts

Playoffs week 1 predictions

Saturday's Games

Washington Redskins vs Seattle Seahawks: 27-21 Washington Todd Collins has been great ever since Jason Campbell has been on the bench and he has shown great success after a great loss of a teamate Sean Taylor.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Pittsburgh Steelers: 31-24 Jacksonville Fred Taylor finally makes the Pro Bowl and he has put up a lot of yards this year and hopefully have a repeat of what he did to Pittsburgh in week 15 in the snow.

Sunday's Games

New York Giants vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 27-20 New York Eli Manning has been inconistant but he has shown that he has great leadership in his team and hopefully will play well coming off a close loss to the Patriots and will have a lot of options since Steve Smith is healthy again and Plaxico Burress has been playing good lately even with an injured ankle.

Tennessee Titans vs San Diego Chargers: 31-17 San Diego LaDainian Tomlinson has been a great back for a while and should carry his team to victory against Kerry Collins and the Titans.

Is He Known as Joba the Nut???

Rumor has it that Joba Chamberlain will be a starting pitcher in the Yankees pitching rotation to replace "The Rocket" and probably Carl Pavano if he isnt injured. I like Joba's pitching ways he decides to use. He pitches one inning and then doesnt pitch one day. His ERA was under 1.00 and had plenty of K's and was the Yankees first round draft pick in 2007 at the beginning of the season. Is he really supposed to be the next Mariano Rivera or the next Roger Clemons? ( excluding taking the steriods )
