Look What We Have Here

I am almost positive that these topical storms are following me. During my first couple weeks in New Orleans at Tulane we got the rain from Hurricane Fay. Then I have to evacuate the city this past week because of Hurricane Gustav only to have Hurricane Hanna follow me to Maryland. Bored sitting inside on [...]

Weekend Weather

Tropical Storm Hanna is currently dumping inches of rain on Maryland and the surrounding areas. If you have been in the region in the last 12 hours, you're well aware of this already.

The good news is that the national weather service is predicting Hanna will be north of the area by tomorrow morning, making way [...]

Musical Chairs on the OL

The Ravens are expected to sign veteran (and former Pro Bowl) offensive tackle Willie Anderson today after he worked out with the team and met with team leaders yesterday. Anderson spent the first part of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, but lost his starting job this preseason and refused to take a pay cut. [...]

Season Preview: Part Two

This is part two of a two-piece preview of the upcoming season. Part one focused on the coaching staff and the division and can be viewed here. Part Two will focus on the Ravens' offense, defense and special teams.

OFFENSE

Running Game

The running game will again be the Ravens' offensive bread and butter. While veteran back Willis McGahee has been sidelined with a knee injury all preseason, rookie Ray Rice has done a fine job filling his shoes. Throughout the season, we are likely to see both runners get plenty of touches and make their fair share of exciting plays. McGahee has great balance, such as the ability

Know Your Opponent: Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals travel to Baltimore looking to tie their franchise record of four straight season-opening wins. Once a destination of heartache for the Bengals, Baltimore has recently become quite the home away from home. The Bengals may be hesitant to call Sunday's game against a Ravens team that appears to be still coming together a "must-win," but Cincinnati has won their home opener in seven of the eight seasons in which they qualified for postseason play, including the last six instances. The Bengals will also have extra incentive to win. Sunday's game will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Bengals founder and former head coach Paul Brown.

Helping Cincinnati attempt to improve from

Sooch's Corner: Week 1

We have made it. Another dreaded summer where the Orioles had kept us interested until the All-Star break only to go into their June swoon a little later than expected. We made it through the first John Harbaugh training camp with mixed feelings. And now it is upon us, another year of Baltimore Ravens Football.

I, for one, do not have lofty expectations for our Ravens this season with the quarterback soap opera out at One Winning Drive, but who can really blame me? For what it's worth, I didn't have great expectations in 2000 either.

But, I do see the Ravens being competitive this season. I like the youth in

Stick a Fork in Boller. He’s Done

The Associated Press reports that quarterback Kyle Boller was placed on injured reserve by the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday, ending his season and perhaps his stay with the team. Boller, who was entering his sixth year in the NFL, all with Baltimore, is in the final year of his contract. The quarterback hurt his shoulder [...]

Clearing Things Up

Bouman? Harrington? Simms? Bramlet? In the last five days, the Ravens have been trying out and trying to sign a handful of veteran quarterbacks in the hopes of adding depth to the teams, but despite published reports pointing fingers every different direction, the latest reports are saying that the team still has not signed any [...]

QB Carousel Continues to Spin

If you love quarterback controversy, the Ravens continue to be the team to follow. Over the holiday weekend, the Ravens made news time and time again with quarterback chat.

Re: Fill in the Blank

It was, oh, 8 months ago that we made a post here called "Fill in the Blank." The task: who are the team's missing links? So let's see what we've got here nowa€¦

It’s Bouman, Not Harrington

The Baltimore Ravens have announced that they have come to terms on a one year deal with QB Todd Bouman following a workout with the team Monday.

Geez, folks. Can't a guy put out a quarterbacks post one hour without having to recant just about half of it the next? Not with this team, I suppose.
