Man In Rhode Island Arrested With .491 BAC!

I know drunk driving is no laughing matter - but I have to think, this guys hangover is going to be worse then any punishment he could receive from the state.

He was caught driving with the highest BAC ever recorded in the state on someone that is not dead.

According to the health dept. .30 is classified as stupor, .40 is comatose, and .50 is considered fatal.

Daaaaaannngg!!!

So Much For My Point Forward Theory - Warriors Sign Marcus Williams

According to the Chronicle....

The Warriors found help in transitioning Monta Ellis into a starting point guard Tuesday, acquiring Marcus Williams from New Jersey for a future first-round pick. The deal is done, the Warriors confirmed, pending approval from the league office.

A Look Back At The "Big O"

While the Warriors spend a good part of the offseason without a point guard - it makes me wonder if maybe they're not going to get a true point guard at all. Maybe they are going to stick with the core of what they have and head more toward a point forward system. It makes more sense to me to have Jackson run the point then Monta. It seems like with his experience he is much more ready for that responsibility. Monta could continue to thrive where he does best - at the 2. I started doing a little research on this system & it led me to read about Oscar Robertson - one of the greatest "all around" players of all time. He averaged a triple double his entire second season in the NBA, He was NBA Rookie of the Year in 1960-61, played in 12 straight NBA All-Star Games, was selected to the All-NBA First Team nine consecutive seasons, won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award in 1963-64, and helped the Milwaukee Bucks win the NBA Championship in 1971. He was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979 and named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1996-97. He was also a driving force in the anti-trust suit against the NBA and ABA merger. If that weren't enough - after his retirement he began working to improve living conditions in his hometown of Indianapolis by working for affordable housing and against policies adverse to minorities in his community. Some might say he revolutionized the way the game of basketball was played. Before him there were no "big guards". One obvious comes to mind after - Magic. But no one has yet to match what the Big O was able to do on the floor. If you would like to read more on Oscar Robertson he has a book titled - "The Big O: My Life, My Times, My Game".

Azubuike Worth The $4mil The Warriors Have Left?

I just thought of something....

The Clips offered Buike $3mil - the W's have $4mil of cap space.

Is he worth it is the question? He definetly offered a nice spark off the bench & looked better & better as his minutes (and biceps;-)) increased.

I am wondering if my hope to keep him has more to do with my like for the guy off the court then his actual skill on the court.

I still think we need a real point guard.

Quick Thoughts On The Warriors Summer League

Well - got back yesterday & I can safely say that 4 days in Vegas is too much.

Just wanted to throw some thoughts out there for discussion...

CJ Watson looked pretty good. He was a total ball thief which was nice - I think he will make a mighty fine back up for whomever we get.

Brandan Wright is still looking like he has a lot of potential but the guy gets thrown around alot! He still needs to bulk up considerably - especially if the rumors about Harrington leaving are true.

Belinelli....what can I say about Belinelli? He played very nice - he was leading the team very well - he had 30 points. Lets just hope this carries over to the regular season to make up for some of what will be missing with Baron gone.

The question I still have is - what does everyone else think of Amundson? He looked like a nice option to fill in some space under the basket. If they do get rid of Harrington the Warriors will be looking very malnourished & need someone that can clear space for Monta to drive through. Plus they will also be lacking some eye candy if they don't match the Clips offer for Azubuike. He will fit this role very nicely. ;-)

I didn't get to see Randolph or Hendrix play which was kind of dissapointing - but there's always the regular season.

First Look At The Warriors New Blood

This is a live blog from the opening day of Summer League. A brief but interesting look at the 1st game W's vs. 76ers.

Sidenote: POB just signed to the Celtics.

Ummm...that's ok.

Turiaf Signs Warriors Offer Sheet

The article says Turiaf is expected to sign Warriors offer sheet. Scratch the expected part.

He done did it. Lakers are not expected to match due to that little luxury tax thingie.

Is this to fill a void that would be left after dealing Al to the Grizz? I'm just sayin....

Let's go get us a POINT GUARD!

Au revoir Air France!

Je vous manquerai!

With all the hullabaloo surrounding Baron/Brand/Maggette we haven't heard much about everyone's favorite French man moving on to the Magic.

When it comes to Mickael there are a few things about this guy that I will surely not miss - setting screens out of bounds, turning over the ball & then stomping & clapping his hands out of frustration, injuring his groin the last part of the season just when he started to get hot....etc. He has made me want to roundhouse kick my tv a few times.

There are also some things that I really will miss about him, his amazing athleticism, his dunks, blocks & sheer explosiveness that when used correctly could be very very fun to watch.

This loss is definetly not a terrible thing for the Warriors on the court. But we did loose a good amount of off the court swagger. Now with Boom gone too - Belinelli will need to step up in the swagger dept.

I wish him the best & I think he will do really well on the Magic.

merci de tout le basket-ball passionnant. bonne chance !

A Look At The Newest Warrior

This is a pretty good article about the Warriors 1st round pick, Anthony Randolph.

I hadn't hear much about him leading up to the draft so when the W's chose him I was like, "WHO?!"

He sounds like a pretty solid pick - although knowing Nellie - it might be awhile before we see him in action.

It will remain to be seen how he bulks up, though. At 6'10", 197 he is even skinnier than Brandan Wright.

How is that even possible?

Sounds like he is a good shot blocker & despite his super model-esque frame - he is confident that he can move bodies around in the paint.

Javon Walkker Expected To Be Ready For Camp

Javon Walker is expected to be fully recovered in time for training camp.

Hopefull he will learn his lesson and travel with a little more caution (ahem - armed guard) next time.
