The San Francisco Giants are rumored to be pursuing a trade for Dontrelle Willis of the Tigers if they do indeed follow through on the Tim Lincecum for Alex Rios trade. A recent article from the San Jose Mercury News states,

"Sabean hinted that he was trying to finagle another pitcher to 'lessen the pain' of losing Lincecum. While it's rumored that Detroit is looking to deal newly acquired left-hander Dontrelle Willis, the Giants probably don't have the chips to get the Oakland native."

An interesting series of moves if it all goes down.

Breaking news from the SF Chronicle report that the Oakland A's seem all but ready to take on Barry Bonds and his entourage of legal trouble and steroid suspicion. One MLB even says he would be surprised if the A's didn't sign Barry. Good move? With the power to null and void the contract if he is sent to jail, I think so.

Brian Sabean wants more than just Rios for Lincecum (yes, the Jays prefer Lincecum based on service time). The Giants want an improved proposal from the Jays, and Toronto could add Robinzon Diaz, Curtis Thigpen, or Brett Cecil. Cecil would have to be a player to be named later since he was drafted in 2007. He signed on June 22nd, so he can't even be named as a PTBNL until December 22nd.

Curious as to why the California Golden Bears football team went from #2 in the nation to 6-6 Pac-10 cellar dwellers? Well, if you live outside of California, probably not. But for those of you that are curious, it's because quarterback Nate Longshore had a chipped bone in his ankle, not a high ankle sprain as he had led the public to believe. If a player is not playing at their highest level and it is affecting team performance, they should rest.

LSU's two losses could have been to Duke and Florida International and they still would have made it to the BCS championship game. They could do no wrong in the eyes of the voters since the preseason. Granted, they are a very talented team, but there are teams who are more deserving of a shot at the BCS National Title at this point in the season (namely Georgia and USC). They are the two hottest teams right now and if there were some sort of playoff or +1 series, there is no doubt that Georgia or USC could take down LSU.

Even though I was really looking forward to seeing Matt Hughes and Matt Serra fight, a redemption match between Hughes and St. Pierre should be just as interesting.

Chuck Liddell is also facing a tough task against Silva, more so now that he is coming off back-to-back losses. All in all, this is one of the most stacked fight cards 've seen in a while. Looking forward to it.

The Warriors are so hot, they're setting the KeyArena scoreboard on FIRE! The game must've been a major relief for the regular starting five of the Warriors as they saw a lot of rest late in the game. We'll see if they have enough energy to keep up with Dwight Howard and Orlando tonight.
