NEW YORK -- Detroit's Rasheed Wallace was fined $25,000 Thursday by the NBA for using profanity and criticizing the officiating after a playoff game the night before. After the Pistons' 106-102 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals, Wallace went on an expletive-laced rant targeting officials Mike Callahan and Kenny Mauer. "The cats are flopping all over the floor and they're calling that," Wallace said. "That ain't basketball out there. It's all entertainment. You all should know that." The Celtics lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.

MIAMI -- Prosecutors in Miami say a fifth person has been charged in the slaying of Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor. Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office spokesman Ed Griffith says Wednesday that 16-year-old Timothy Brown is charged with first-degree murder. He is also charged with armed burglary of an occupied dwelling. Griffith says Brown does not yet have an attorney on record with the prosecutor's office. Taylor died of massive blood loss after he was shot at his Miami-area home during a botched robbery in November. The 24-year-old safety had made the Pro Bowl in 2006 and 2007. Brown is being held in Lee County. It's not immediately known when he'll be transferred to Miami-Dade County to face the charge.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP)—The Buffalo Bills released Kevin Everett on Tuesday, clearing the way for the former tight end to receive disability benefits for the spinal cord injury that ended his career. Everett was initially paralyzed from the neck down after a violent collision with then-Denver receiver Domenik Hixon on a kickoff return in last year's season opener. Doctors doubted Everett would walk again, but the Texas native regained many motor skills, including the ability to walk without assistance. Everett will be able to apply for long-term disability benefits and a one-time payment under the player health reimbursement plan. He would not have been eligible for the programs if he stayed on the Bills active roster.

We got many reasons to be excited. Kobe repordedly is the leagues MVP. They made a nice move with getting Pau Gasol. There bench is playing well also. Look for them to advance against Utah in 5 games. The only team that looks hot potentially to match up against the Lakers in the finals is the Pistons.

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh said Thursday the poor relationship between the Cincinnati Bengals and disgruntled receiver Chad Johnson could pose problems for the team. "If he's not traded, it's going to be a problem," Houshmandzadeh told ESPN's Bob Holtzman. Houshmandzadeh told ESPN he talked with Johnson and quarterback Carson Palmer on Wednesday after Johnson demanded to be traded by Cincinnati. Houshmandzadeh said Johnson told him he wasn't playing. But Houshmandzadeh said: "I think he'll eventually show up, but then you have to worry about how much of a distraction he'll be," Houshmandzadeh told ESPN.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP)—Often, the talk around Harbour Town Golf Links centers on Tiger Woods' latest victory, record or streak. On Wednesday, it focused on his left knee. On Tuesday, Woods announced on his Web site he had arthroscopic surgery on the knee and would need at least four weeks to recover. Tiger Woods better be in my hometown PVB(Ponte Vedra Bch.). Excuse to everything. No but take in to consideration he has not played well lately.

Why whenever I try to write an article or type in Pacmans name it says:
Thank You for your patience will get you back in the yard as soon as possible.

Adam "Pacman" Jones, who had been expected to apply for reinstatement to the NFL on Tuesday, said he now plans to wait until he's traded before seeking commissioner Roger Goodell's OK to play pro football again. Jones' agent had said the Tennessee Titans cornerback, suspended since last April for violating the league's conduct policy in several scrapes with the law, would file his paperwork on Tuesday. But Jones told Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin on ESPN 103.3 Dallas that he would await a trade first before seeking reinstatement. Jones has made no secret of his desire to play for the Dallas Cowboys, but Dallas and the Titans have been unable to agree on the terms of a trade.

Memphis freshman Derrick Rose, who was widely expected to enter the NBA draft after playing one season for the Tigers, will do so this week, according to Memphis-area media reports. The Commercial Appeal and WPTY-TV both cited sources close to the Memphis program in reporting that Rose, who averaged 14.9 points and 4.7 assists per game in the regular season and 20.8 points in six NCAA tournament games, would declare his intent to enter the draft. The Tigers finished national runners-up to Kansas.

After more than a week of inactivity, the Titans and Cowboys once again are talking about a trade involving suspended cornerback Pacman Jones. One of Jones' agents thinks that if a deal is going to get done, it will be this week. I think for both teams, it is important,'' agent Worrick Robinson said. "It will give them a chance to set their draft boards and make adjustments. "But both sides are savvy business people and they both have experience in these matters, and they are moving at their own pace. They are not going to let the pace of this be dictated by anyone else. … But the draft is going to influence everything.'' The NFL Draft is April 26-27.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP)â€"Quarterback David Garrard probably could have gotten the Jacksonville Jaguars to pay him more money. But he was tired of negotiating. So Garrard ended the contract process Monday, signing a seven-year, $60 million contract that is the richest in franchise history. "I pretty much had to say, 'Let's go ahead and wrap it up. I'm done,"' Garrard said. "It's too much stress on me and my family. My wife was done five weeks ago. She's already been on board with everything. We just kept working on it and I finally just said, 'You know what, I'd rather be happy now, have the city happy now, have the team, the organization, the owner happy now than trying to string something out having everybody on edge." Garrard and his agent, Albert Irby, had been seeking something similar to the six-year, $67.5 million contract Dallas quarterback Tony Romo signed last season.
