Curtis Thinks He's A Number 1 WR

After his 1,110 yards receiving in his debut season as an Eagle Curtis thinks he's number one WR and is ready to prove it to the fans. In a town where it has become and obession ,it's going to be hard for Curtis to prove that he's such a player especially when some fans are still living in the days when Owens was part of this team. IMO Curtis is a solid #2, yeah he had a little over 1000 yards in WR, but at times he just didnt show up he dropped some passes and became invisible at the wrong times during last season. To me a # 1 has to be there in every game, you cant shine one weekend and go dim the next. You have to make the the opposing the defense account for you on every play, and I dont think Curtis is a player that opposing coaches feel the have to game plan for him, I could be wrong but I just dont see it. I would love for him to florish and become the number one WR he feels he is and that we as fans arent seeing. And he might juist do it, I wont put the man down, I mean he got that 1000 yards with an ailing McNabb, not with McNabb back healthy and strong, maybe Curtis will give us a repeat performance or better, I cant wait for the season to start, I'll be keeping my eyes on Curtis ot see how he improves on his numbers and play from last year. S what do you think Curtis will bring us in his second year as an Eagle?

Looking Back At Reids Career

When He came to Philly nobody well at least I didnt know who the Hell he was, all I knew is that I was tired of the Eagles losing. But I wasnt sold on Reid especially because the man was never a coordinator or anything like that, so I didnt think he had what it took to help the Eagles win. But I gues Lurie thought what Reid had to offer was good for the team, and so far he's been right. Reid turned this team into winners, after years of bad coachin under Kotite and Rhodes. He got us to 4 championship games and one SB, he's been coach of the year, and drafted some very good players to help build this team to where it is right now. Yeah he's made some mistakes with players he drafted/didnt draft, and contract disputes, but nobody's perfect. Sometimes th man gets on my nerves during the games, and PC's you all know how much I hate when he says "It starts with me, I have to put the guys in a better position to make plays, and win games." But other tha that he's a good coach that built a solid program and made the Eagles and contender every year in this league with the exception of a few Donovan McNabb injury years. This year will mark his tenth year here which is remarkable especially when quality coaches are being fired left and right or are always on the "HOT SEAT". I hope this year will be the year he wins that trophy and I can give myself a holiday so I can go get drunk down Broad Street celebratin an Eagles SB. LETS GO EAGLES!!!!!!!

Betting Odds To Win The East

For those of you that like playing the odds and going down to Vegas or where ever you do your betting, this site breaks down every team in the East's chances. Their clear favorite are the Cowboys who according to the have no apparent weaknesses, I gues they forgot Roy Williams is still in the secondary......yeah I went there, anyway the went as far as to say the Cowboys are the thruth of the division and will win the SB. Right now evryone has the same record so I guess everyone has a chance until the season starts and key players start to go down.

NFL Suspends Henry Pending Outcome Of Trial

CINCINNATI (AP)—Former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry has been suspended by the NFL pending the outcome of his trial later this month, his agent said Friday.

The Bengals released Henry on April 3 after he was arrested for the fifth time. Henry is scheduled for trial June 24 in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court on charges of assault and criminal damaging. A man accused Henry of punching him in the face and breaking his car window with a beer bottle.

Henry had received permission from the judge to try out with other NFL teams. Commissioner Roger Goodell has blocked him from doing so until his case is heard, agent Marvin Frazier said. If Henry is acquitted, the suspension could be lifted, Frazier said.

Is It Time For Bengals To Cut Ties With Johnson?

Acocrding to Jason Cole they need to do just that before it gets ugly. Yes, Johnson did report to training camp but didnt participate ion the activities. Like I said in a response to someones article yesterday about Johnson being at camp, yes he's there but that's only to avoid a fine. After all the man is asking for a raise so he wouldnt risked getting fined since he's already "underpaid" ***rolling eyes*****. After passing a physical and being cleared by team doctors Johson claimed he couldnt practice due to bone spurs in his ankle, an ankle the Bengals have been begging him to get surgury on since last season. No, I'm not writing this to say bring him to Philly, but I can only imagine how bad it will get during the season, he barely spoke to any of his teammates, he's had a fall out with his QB, so what are they waiting for?

T.O. Peeved At Extra Drug Testing

"They can test me 1,000 times," the Dallas Cowboys receiver said Wednesday. "I know that I don't use illegal stuff, so I'm good."

This was T.O. response to being tested as a result of missing random test due to a missed call, he said the league tried to contact him at an old number, and that's why he missed the test.

Jason Cole Rips DeSean

I dont where this guy is coming from, this to me is an unfair assement of the kid after watching him in one day's practice. I doubt that he's ever paid attention all the time at school, meetings at work. Heres some of what he had to say: "The problem is that Jackson has this tendency to act like a kid who thinks it's cool to sit in the back of class and stare at the ceiling tiles with a disaffected attitude. During every individual drill, Jackson was the last in line to do the exercise. When wide receivers coach David Culley stopped to talk to the group, Jackson was the first (and often the only) one to take off his helmet. He looked off in every direction except directly at Culley."

"About the only time Jackson seemed to pay full attention was when Reid was observing up close. In the NFL, you have to work harder than just when the big boss is looking."

Former NFL LB Charged With Felony After Dogs Attack Woman

RICHMOND, Texas (AP)--Former NFL linebacker Steve Foley was charged with a felony after his pit bulls bit a woman and killed her puppy.

He surrendered at the Fort Bend County Jail on Wednesday and was released on a $10,000 bond, sheriff's spokeswoman Terriann Carlson said.

A grand jury indicted Foley, accusing him of failing to secure the dogs. The two adult pit bulls attacked neighbor Twana Schulz on March 26, causing serious bodily injury when they bit her on the arms and face, according to court documents.

Foley was not home when the attack occurred, said his lawyer, Paul Nugent. A conviction on the third-degree felony charge could result in two to 10 years in prison, Nuggent said.

Thurman Suspended Indefinitely

What a waste of talent, messing up your life and career cuz you cant stop smokin weed or whatever the hell drugs he was doing or is doing. This guy had a promising future but I guess gettin high is better than earning a paycheck that most of us can only dream of. Now he probably wont get another chance, I dont see how he will this is the third consecutive season that he'll miss because of his stupidity. I hope teh Bengals get rid of him because apparently he hasnt learned his lesson from the previous two suspensions.

What's Their Worth?

So everyone in the yard is always talkin about players that want to be traded, that should be traded and what they're worth. Well CBSSPORTLINE.COM asked a few GM's around the league what they think Chad, LIto, Jason, Roy, Lamont, are worth when it comes to being trade bait. I'll give one opinion of each of the players from a few GM's Jason Taylor: GM No. 1: "If I were a team that finished 9-7, 10-6 or 11-5, was looking to take the next step and thought this guy could put me over the top, I'd probably be willing to give up a third-rounder. He's starting to drop off, but he could still help someone. The problem is that it would be for one or two years, and that's it. So he's not going to help someone in the middle of the pack or someone trying to build for the future. He can still be a dominant player, but not for long." Chad Johnson: GM No. 2: "I wouldn't have him if he was offered for free. He's like David Boston, Terrell Owens and Jeremy Shockey. They're all quality players, but you have to put up with all this other stuff, and, I'm sorry, I'm not interested. I'll take a lesser player in talent who has a solid work ethic and won't be a distraction. I'll be honest: I loved the statement Marvin Lewis made about Johnson after putting up with this nonsense for years. Now the Bengals are on the right path because if he comes back, goes to training camp, then starts acting up, they can get him for 'conduct detrimental.' Believe me, the Bengals have a file accumulated on this guy. But if you're asking me what I'd give for him, I wouldn't take him on under any circumstances. There's too much of a risk to the rest of the team." Ltio Sheppard : GM No. 1: "I wouldn't give you anything for him. I mean that. He's a zone corner who can't play in Cover Two because he won't tackle. He doesn't like to hit. Plus, he gets hurt too much, and he's limited in his coverage skills. He reacts to things, he's instinctive and he has ball skills. But he hasn't played a complete season in the last three years, and he's someone who doesn't want to tackle." Roy Williams (Safety Cowboys) : "Probably a third-rounder. He's a box safety who's limited in coverage. In my estimation he's overrated because there are certain things he can't do -- though tackling isn't one of them. He's a good, physical player, but, like I said, he's limited. Now when you're looking at what you could get in the third round at safety, there's no comparison. He's better. Much better. Still, I wouldn't give up much more than that."

What Will Happen When Their Contracts Are Up?

They have been part of the Philly offensive line for as long as I can remember, but we all know they're getting up there in age and their contracts are up at the end of 08. So will they get their contracts renewed or will one of the new kids step? Or will we be shopping for some vets to replace them? So many questions so few answers. So guys let me know what you think.

Will The Momentum Carry Over?

Ok so the Eagles finished up strong last year by winning their last 3 games, McNabb looked well on his way to being his old self. But will that momentum of winning those last 3 games will carry into this upcoming season? Andy seems to think so, but do the players and the fans? As for me I dont think so, simply because theres just too much time that passes by to have any kind of momentum. It seems like the last few seasons every time we've made a late season run into the play-offs and get ousted Reid seems to think it will carry over into the next. Yeah we played well and our record was 5-3, defense allowed fewer points and some of the guys stepped up. But after a long off-season I just dont see any momentum. I just think you just have to prepare well in training camp stay healthy and hopefully kept the right guys that will help and not hinder the teams progress.

We all saw what happened in Green Bay, and that momentum carried over the entire season, you might was what about the Lions game? While it was fun to watch it was a fluke, after all it was the damn Lions. With that said lets hope whatever happens between now and opening day its nothing but good news, and all the right choices as far the roster goes.

Eagles Training Camp Countdown

Two words define this year's objective: Super Bowl. The Eagles are gearing up for another championship run, their first legitimate one since 2004 and maybe the final one of quarterback Donovan McNabb's Philadelphia career. Cool article by Geoff Mosher, I think he's riight on the money with this analysis.

Demps Ready To Show His Skills And Earn Roster Spot

Now we all know that we're worried abou the day weapon X hang's em up. He's been a fixture in the Eagles secondary for a little over a decade. Who will be the future when Dawk retires? Last year Gaddis didnt work out, Considine gets ran over, Paschal didnt play much, Mikell is pretty damn good, and we have JR. But Demps is ready to earn playing time as a rookie, whether its special teams or earning playing time in certain situations. He was a fierce hitter and ball hawk in college, but this is the big leagues and you have to earn your keep and learn every play on defense and special teams. You gotta be mentally allert and make the right calls during the game. Demps said he's willing to do whatever its takes even if it means snapping the ball.

He has a good guy to learn from in Dawk, lets hope he uses all that time to soak up the knowledge one of the best in the game has to offer. I like Demps' attitude he seems ready and mature, I hope this kid makes it he definitely has some swagg.
