LeBron, Kobe, KG, Dwight Howard, and Chris Paul were named to the NBA's 1st team yesterday, in what was a widely anticipated front lineup. The second team was made up of Nash, Deron Williams, Dirk Nowtizki, Amare and Tim Duncan, while the third team was comprised of Yao Ming, T-Mac, Manu Ginobili, Carlos Boozer, and Paul Pierce. I don't know how Ming made the roster, and it's surprising that neither Allen Iverson nor Carmelo Anthony made any of the teams. Your thoughts?

It seems more evident in this year's NBA playoffs that the stars are being more and more protected. Look at the amount of fouls LeBron and Kobe get called in their favor, and look at how many of them are actually fouls. That "flagrant 2" by Darius Songalia was bs, as was the fact that Kobe went to the line 20 times last night. These guys are getting calls because of the name and number on their jersey, and it pisses me off!

Nike came out with a new LeBron commercial but it's not very good. I think it's really boring, without any basketball and just includes people talking about him. Check it out for yourself, lemme know what you think.

After being arrested and pepper sprayed after driving a boat under the influence of alcohol, the Bears' starting running back may be in trouble with the team. He was drafted 4th overall 3 years ago but has shown little reason to warrant any additional carries this season. The team is even openly talking about cutting him because of his off-field troubles and lack of production on the field. I think that would be dumb, because they'll still have to pay him and not get any of his services; plus with the way they handled the Tank Johnson issue this wouldn't be equal treatment.

LeBron James was hit in the face by Wizards' forward Darius Songalia in Game 5, which has resulted in a suspension for Songalila in Game 6. The Wizards are not happy with the ruling, but you watch the video and make your own decision. I think it's a bit of a ticky-tacky call, but he did touch his face.

Who says women are vicious? In an unprecedented display of sportsmanship, two Central Washington softball players helped carry a Western Oregon player after she hit a home run and hurt her knee on the way around the bases. She never actually was going to make it around to score the winning run, so essentially Central Washington carried home the winning run. Is this a great display of sportsmanship or a way to give away the game?

After another first round playoff exit, Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks have decided to fire head coach Avery Johnson. Johnson owns the highest winning percentage in the regular season of any coach with at least 250 games to be fired, but its clear that he has lost this team. I'm not sure if this was the right move though, because I think keeping Johnson and revamping the roster would have been a more appropriate move. Stackhouse is getting older, Kidd isn't the answer at PG, and they ned another scorer (thanks Josh Howard and Jason Terry). The Mavs are a sinking ship, just like the Suns.

The NBA Playoffs have been a physical matchup all around, with Jason Kidd and Brendan Haywood getting called for a Flagrant 2, but DeShawn Stevenson's foul of LeBron was easily the most flagrant of the bunch. He's clearly not going to get the block, but he swings anyway, with his forearm and hits LeBron right in the head. Coupled with the talk that has been exchanged by the two and the maliciousness of the hit, Stevenson was out of line.

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed in principle with suspended Titans' CB Pacman Jones to bring him to Dallas. Dallas will give up a 4th round pick in exchange for Jones, but the deal is contingent upon Jones meeting certain criteria before he can even join the team. Of course, one of those is reinstatement, plus he had to donate $500,000 to a charity organization, and multiple others. It looks like Jones will be Cowboy though, eventually. Just saw this on ESPN, details to come. Lemme know what you think.

Liverpool was up 1-nil against Chelsea until a cross was headed into Liverpool's goal by their own player. That has to be one of the worst feelings in the world, sorry buddy.

Kevin Garnett has come into Boston and turned the team around, just as he promised he would after that blockbuster trade last season. With he and Ray Allen joining Paul Pierce, the Cetics finished the regular season with the NBA's best record and are in the playoffs for the first time in several years. This all started with KG's intensity on the defensive end, which today was recognized by the league as he was named the NBA's Defensive POY over the Nuggets' Marcus Camby and Houston's Shane Battier. Great choice here, now I'm just waiting for either LeBron or Kobe to be named MVP.

Frank Thomas was released today by the Toronto Blue Jays in a decision that is being called one of "mutual consent". Big Hurt was upset by the lack of at-bats he's going to see this season and the club didn't want to pay him his $10 million if he reached 376 at bats. Is this the end of the road for Thomas?

Charles Barkley has been known for saying some stupid stuff, but his latest comments may be the dumbest yet. Here's what Charles said: "I think the Washington Wizards have got to be the dumbest team in the history of civilization. I think for them to rile up LeBron, who's the second-best player we've got in the NBA . . . I think that's just stupid," Barkley said. "I thought [the Wizards] had a chance to win that series. I don't think that any more."

Well April 15th has come around and hopefully all of you have paid your taxes. Unfortunately for the professional athletes they have to pay state income taxes in every state which they play a game in. It all began in 1991 when the state of California taxed Michael Jordan when the Bulls defeated the LA Lakers, and then generated roughly $100 million from the practice. That sucks for pro athletes, but it seems like they have the cash to afford it anyway. Your thoughts?
