I recently got involved in an online "sim" league using Baseball Mogul 2k9 and when I got a copy of the full version of the game, I have decided to review it for anyone interested in the game.
I find it completely addicting to be honest. The feature that appeals most to me is that you can start a franchise in any season from 1901 to today.
It allows you to relive your childhood or play with the heroes of our past. For me it's great to build a team around Don Mattingly in his prime, or see what the Yankees would have been like had Lou Gehrig not gotten sick in the 1930's.
Also the player rating systems are very deep, giving a current and potential rating on all players, and every player is scaled differently as to when they reach their peak, how long they peak, and how fast they decline after their peak ages.
You really have the ability to take over as GM and Manager of a franchise and build them how you want.
The one aspect I would like to see cleaned up and made a little more user friendly is the fantasy draft feature. You can start any league, any season, and fantasy draft them, but it is a bit difficult to use and to find players to draft. This is one area I will look for improvement on in the next installment.
