Funny, the girls will actually fight. While the guys stand around selling wolf tickets. I blame the refs. Basketball is a emotionally intense game. There a lot of adrenaline running thru the body during a game. When emotions get high like that, fights will happen. It's up to the refs to control the physicality of the game from the start. When they fail, this is what happens

i agree. the majority of... "instances" in basketball gams occur because the officials lose control of the game. As an official, it is important to recognize the players who are starting to yap at each other and try to calm them down. Call technicals, officials timeouts, whatever, but don't let it reach this point. Its really a shame, it puts a bad name on the players and the league, as well as ruining what was a good game.

Add to this incident the fact that Parker is going to be a target because she's a highly-touted rookie. Vets always try to intimidate rookies. It is no different in women's basketball. But the officiating comment is spot on. The game was already out of control. This was almost inevitable.
