Boxing is coming off of an action-pack weekend, and on Saturday night, Top Rank & ESPN head to Canada for a super middleweight showdown between a rising contender and a battle-tested veteran. Christian Mbilli (27-0, 23 KOs) will put his undefeated record against Sergiy Derevyanchenko (15-5, 10 KOs) in a scheduled ten-round bout live on ESPN.
Mbilli stays true to “activity matters,” as this will be his third fight this year. His fight in January against Rohan Murdock ended in the sixth round, and the May fight against Mark Heffron did not go past the opening round. Mbilli is quietly creating a buzz in Canada that will soon grow big enough to potentially lure the likes of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and other big names in the super middleweight division. Mbilli can make a big statement on Saturday if he can be the first to stop Derevyanchenko before the sound of the final bell.

The 38-year-old Derevyanchenko hasn’t been as active as this will be his second fight in 2024 after fighting once a year since 2020. Derevyanchenko looks to get another crack at a title or a big fight but must first beat Mbilli, which, from the outside, appears to be a tall order. Can Derevyanchenko dial up one last great fight, or being on “the back nine” play out in the ring while losing badly?
Per DraftKings Sportsbook, Christian Mbilli is the favorite at -425, and Sergiy Derevyanchenko is the underdog at +300.
These timings could change due to the length of the undercard fights.
