Boxing in 2025 will truly begin soon, with Naoya Inoue returning to action on January 24. In February, we will see a loaded Riyadh Season card, headlined by Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol 2. On that undercard, WBC lightweight champ Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) will return to action, facing Floyd Schofield. Eddie Hearn has spoken to The Stomping Ground about Stevenson and revealed what he thinks is “The Fight” for the New Jersey native.
“Shakur against Tank is the fight. Gervonta could come over to Riyadh Season and fight Shakur or he could fight Loma, another massive name, for more money than he’s ever made before,” said Hearn.
Hearn reiterated: “Shakur against Tank is the fight. That is one of the best fights in sport. One of the biggest fights in American boxing.”
He added: “And I’m telling you now, no one beats Shakur Stevenson.”
Talking about Gervonta Davis, Hearn said: “After Tank fights Lamont Roach, who is there for Tank to fight? Don’t want to see an Isaac Cruz fight, who cares?”
“Tank’s got to fight Shakur.”
