Starbury Jr. has officially decided where he will be attending college.

In a post to his Instagram page this week, Stephon Marbury II, the son of former NBA All-Star guard Stephon Marbury, announced his college commitment. Marbury II has committed to Cal to play basketball.

USA Today reports that Marbury II will be a preferred walk-on at Cal. He is a 6-foot-3 point guard who went to DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla. this year.

Marbury II has a lot of legacy to live up to. His father, a two-time NBA All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection, was one of the most famous hoopers of his generation.

After a memorable 13-year career in the NBA, the elder Marbury also earned legend status in China, becoming a three-time champion, a Finals MVP and even eventually a head coach there.

Marbury has maintained a high profile in more recent years, too, appearing at New York Knicks playoff games this season and also making headlines for his outspoken opinions about the team

As for Marbury II, he will be looking to carve out his path at Cal under head coach Mark Madsen, who was an NBA contemporary of his father.
