Baylor Basketball 2025 March Madness Seed Announced

The 2025 NCAA Tournament selection committee has given the Baylor Bears the No. 9 seed in the East Regional.

Baylor will take on No. 8 Mississippi State on March 20th or 21st in New Jersey. The winner will play either Duke or American/Mount St. Mary’s in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

Last season, the Bears were the No. 3 seed in the West Regional. Baylor wound up losing to Clemson in the Round of 32 by a score of 72-64.

 

Baylor Basketball Information Ahead of March Madness

Baylor finished the regular season with a 19-14 record, including a 10-10 record in Big 12 play. Recently, the Bears were bounced from the Big 12 Tournament with a 76-74 loss to Texas Tech.

The Bears are led by Norchad Omier and VJ Edgecombe, who are both averaging more than 15 points per game. Omier was named a First-Team All-Big 12 selection this year, while Edgecombe kicked off the Second-Team. In addition to the star duo of Omier and Edgecombe, Baylor has found production from Robert Wright III, Jeremy Roach, Jayden Nunn, and Langston Love, who are combining to average 39 points per game.

Baylor has made 16 NCAA Tournament appearances while reaching four Final Fours and winning a National Championship in 2021. The Cougars have an overall record of 22-15 in March Madness.
