As Aggies’ head coach Bucky McMillan continues to add new talent to a vacant Texas A&M roster, College Station may have just received their biggest news yet.

With the offseason continuing to roll on and the transfer portal closing within the next 24 hours, Bucky McMilan and his coaching staff announced earlier today that Texas A&M has acquired former Oklahoma guard Duke Miles. The 6’2”, 188 pound senior was a bright spot on an up and down Oklahoma squad, as Miles should provide the Aggies with some much needed veteran presence. Miles averaged 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, all while shooting 51.4% from the field. The Montgomery, Alabama native shot 83.1% from the free throw line as well, and should provide the Aggies with the much needed shooting depth that was nowhere to be found last season.

Miles garnered interest from many schools, but ultimately chose Texas A&M as his new home over multiple powerhouse programs such as Penn State, Baylor, USC, Creighton, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Indiana, LSU, Tennessee, Texas, and many more. The redshirt senior spent his first three seasons at Troy, starting a total of 25 games before eventually spending time at both High Point University and Oklahoma. Miles brings a strong defensive presence to Aggieland as well, as the Alabama native averaged 1.4 steals per game and had a total of 22 steals in SEC play.

As Bucky McMillan continues the tall task of reassembling a vacant Aggies’ squad, the roster may finally be coming together as the future in College Station is starting to look much brighter.
