Just before the annual Blue-White spring game Penn State Football has landed a commitment. Friday night, New Jersey native, Roseby Lubintus committed to the Nittany Lions.
Lubintus is an ON3 Industry 3 star. He chose the Nittany Lions over schools like Syracuse, West Virginia, and Michigan State.
Roseby Lubintus becomes the second Offensive Line commit for Penn State in the class of 2026. The other is in-state Harrisburg product, Kevin Brown. Lubintus is not rated as highly as Brown, but Lubintus offers plenty of potential. He is the kind of lineman that Phil Trautwein likes to have in his room.
Roseby Lubintus has been a guy on Penn State’s radar for a while now. He has made multiple trips to State College to watch Penn State Football.
This should not affect any of Penn State’s other Offensive Line targets. Namely, Grayson McKeogh, among others. Penn State will obviously still have a spot for McKeogh, Drew Evers, Benjamin Eziuka, and others. Lubintus has been on Penn State’s board for a long time and they are happy to get him.
Lubintus should only help Penn State’s Offensive Line recruiting through peer recruiting.
Initially, Penn State Football fans may not be on board with Lubintus’s rating. He is rated low, however, he has all the makings of someone who can develop into a Penn State starter.
Standing at 6-5, 300 pounds, Lubintus’s frame can fit into multiple different positions. He could bloom into a Tackle or transition to Guard. He offers a lot of developmental flexibility. This really helps Phil Trautwein and James Franklin with the flexibility to have Lubintus play different spots in the future.
Don’t expect Lubintus to come in and push for a starting job in year one. However, he is the type of prospect that Penn State has made a living on in the past. Guys like Olu Fashanu were rated similarly. I think Penn State is getting a terrific developmental prospect in Roseby Lubintus.
