Alabama IOL Tyler Booker 2025 NFL Draft Profile
Gary Cosby Jr.-Imagn Images

Tyler Booker, G, Alabama

Height: 6'5
Weight: 352

Strengths:

  • Play Strength: Booker has elite play strength in his frame. Every punch he delivers jolts defenders and he is capable of ending reps quickly as soon as he establishes contact. In the run game, Booker smashes through defenders routinely and is a violent finisher. Bull rushes get washed out against his anchor. He's a thick, stout rock in the middle of the offensive line.
  • Frame: You could be forgiven if you thought Alabama threw some pads on a boulder given Booker's frame. He's a massive 6'5, 352-pound bully with good arm length. They don't make them like him all that often.
  • Technique: Despite his size and frame, Booker plays with great pad level and technique. His hands are quick and accurate, and he handles stunts and blitzes quickly.

Weaknesses:

  • Athleticism: Booker is still quick off the ball and has the athletic ability to climb to the second level or pull while serving as the lead blocker. Where he struggles is in his change of direction ability. He can get beaten across his face by more agile or savvier rushers at the next level, as he's just not fluid enough to handle that kind of speed.

Player Evaluation:

Booker is an incredibly easy evaluation in this 2025 NFL Draft class. What you see is what you get with him, and fortunately, it's easy to see why he's such a highly-rated prospect. A rock given sentience, Booker is an immovable force in the middle and pops open run lanes with ease.

He is the best true guard in this draft class and should be selected fairly early on come April.

Player Comparison:

Trey Smith (Kansas City Chiefs)

This might be too lofty of a comp, but the raw power and demeanor these two have are similar in my mind. Early on in his career, Smith struggled in pass protection with much the same issues as Booker before he got to a point in his career where he started solving that issue with technique. Both of these two are behemoths in the run game and can set the tone for an offensive line.
