Arch Manning likely won't be the Texas Longhorns' starting quarterback in 2024.
But that doesn't mean that the former five-star recruit is planning to leave Austin.
Manning, the nephew of Tennessee Vols legend Peyton Manning, will likely be a backup in 2024 with Quinn Ewers still expected to return to Texas for another season.
According to 247Sports' Chris Hummer, Manning, despite having to wait another year to play at Texas, is expected to remain with the Longhorns this offseason instead of entering the NCAA transfer portal.
Hummer said that Manning is "quite content" at Texas and doesn't have a problem sitting for another season. As Hummer noted, Manning came to Texas to play for Steve Sarkisian and he's willing to wait another year to make that a reality.
While Manning isn't expected to transfer, Hummer suggested that Maalik Murphy, who was ahead of Manning on the depth chart this season, could be on the move if Ewers confirms his return to Texas.
That scenario would likely make Manning's decision to return to Texas even easier.
