The Nebraska football team will head to New York for its first bowl game since 2016.

As announced on Sunday, the Huskers will play the Boston College Eagles at Yankee Stadium in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl.

That game will be played on Dec. 28 with kickoff slated for 11 a.m. (CT) on ABC.

Nebraska will be making its 54th bowl appearance all-time (26-27) and first under head coach Matt Rhule. It will also be the Big Red’s first game at the current Yankee Stadium and just their second in the Bronx, the other coming back in 1962 — a 36-34 win over Miami in the Gotham Bowl.

“Our team is looking forward to the opportunity to spend the bowl season in New York City and play in the Pinstripe Bowl,” Rhule said. “This is a great connection between two iconic brands in Nebraska football and Yankee Stadium, and it will be a memorable experience for our players. I have great respect for the Boston College program and the success Coach O’Brien has had in his first season.”

Boston College, meanwhile, is coming off a 7-5 season in the ACC and is led by Bill O’Brien.
