Jaren Kanak finds himself in an awkward but hilarious situation on social media amidst Sooners' David Stone situation

The Oklahoma Sooners are never without drama, no matter if it's during the season or in the offseason. And, this time it's with five-star defensive tackle David Stone , and now linebacker turned tight end Jaren Kanak, who had a hilarious reaction to it all.

Earlier this week, the Sooners got word that David Stone, one of the best defensive line players in that unit, wanted to enter the transfer portal. And, he did. Now, whether he leaves or not is still something we are waiting to see if it really happens or not. However, it feels more than likely that he's gone, that it is he is back.

With that, outrage has sparked, even from people who cover the team and are supposed to be hiding their bias.

Dean Blevins, the OKC-KWTV Sports Director, commented on the Sooners' past history with failing five-star players, which has a hint of truth to it. However, in that same tweet, he mentioned that David Stone was more interested in social media rather than playing football, as if we know what these players are more interested in.

Not to mention, someone else commented that Stone has made five total tweets in 2025 so far. And here is where it really gets funny for Kanak.

Jaren Kanak, the former backup linebacker who had a defensive touchdown against the Houston Cougars last season, is now switching to tight end after the Sooners failed to get any big-time players through the portal at that position. This is something that the fan base played around with as a funny idea, but it ended up coming to light. And, hey, Kanak is no slouch of an athlete.

Since spring football has started, Kanak has done so well. But that's not what this is about -- many of you may know that Kanak has a very strong social media presence, much bigger than what Stone has. Kanak is hilarious and a guy who allows fans the insight into his personality while also being a good football player.

On the tweet about Stone being more interested in social media, Kanak posted a meme on the tweet, making everything 10 times funnier, which only Kanak knows how to do.
