Ah, Lane Kiffin—never one to miss an opportunity to stir the pot.
During a recent appearance on The Pivot Podcast, the Ole Miss head coach took a not-so-subtle jab at former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck who transferred to Miami after signing a $4.3 million NIL deal to join the Hurricanes.
“Miami gave him $4.3 million? Did they watch his game against us?” Kiffin quipped, drawing laughs from the show’s hosts.
Kiffin’s comment refers to Ole Miss' win over the Bulldogs last season, in which Beck looked putrid throughout the performance.

While Miami is betting big on the former SEC standout, Kiffin clearly isn’t convinced he’s worth the price tag.
Beck’s transfer to Miami is one of the biggest portal moves of the offseason, and the $4.3 million NIL figure tied to it only adds to the buzz.
NIL continues to dominate headlines, especially following recent high-profile deals like Tennessee’s situation with Nico Iamaleava.
Kiffin hasn’t commented on that case specifically, but he’s been one of the loudest voices calling attention to the rapidly changing college football economy.
And this jab at Beck is right in character.
Whether or not Beck proves to be worth Miami’s investment remains to be seen. He’ll have a massive spotlight on him this fall—and even more motivation, thanks to Kiffin’s public shot.
One thing’s for sure. The SEC may not have Carson Beck anymore, but that’s not stopping Lane Kiffin from keeping him in the headlines.
Kiffin, of course, probably won't be one to care about the backlash.
