Missouri OT Armand Membou 2025 NFL Draft Profile
Denny Medley-Imagn Images

Armand Membou, OT, Missouri

Height: 6'3
Weight: 325 pounds
DOB: 3/27/2004 (20 years old)
Missouri

Strengths

  • Athleticism: Membou is an explosive athlete with tremendous gifts. He springs out of his stance with very good quickness and has the agility and twitch to reach and seal defenders on playside and backside of runs with ease. Membou plays in control throughout the entire rep with very good body control. When climbing in space, he demonstrated very good change of direction ability and body control to adjust and nail defenders at the second and third level of runs. In pass protection, Membou showed very good natural fluidity to match rushers around the arc.
  • Play Strength: Membou plays with often overwhelming power. He is a frequent tone-setter up front, capable of displacing defenders with ease. Reps frequently end as soon as he establishes contact with the defender.
  • Length: We don't have an official arm length on Membou yet, but I suspect he'll come in close to 35-inch arms.

Weaknesses

  • Use of Hands: Membou needs to improve his strike timing to hang at the next level against speed rushers. On a few reps on film, I thought he was late to establish contact and would let rushers attack outside more than they should. Craftier NFL rushers can pick him apart like that if he isn't going to more aggressive in establishing first contact and mixing up his strikes.
  • Lunging: When Membou gets bit by speed on the outside, he will skate too far over and lunge to over-compensate, leaving him off balance. Speed-to-power rushers and savvier rushers will set him up at the next level
  • Height: This isn't a concern of mine, given the rest of his film, but NFL scouts are extremely particular about measurables. Membou is listed at 6'3. The only active tackles at that height are Chuma Edoga and Troy Fautanu. Again, I'm not particularly concerned about him holding up at tackle, but NFL scouts will likely be finicky about that (and likely why people have said early on that he is a guard).

Player Evaluation

I don't think it's hyperbole to say Armand Membou has the most enjoyable film of the entire offensive line class. He frequently buries defenders with his power, delivering punishing body blow after body blow as the game goes on.

I've seen some mixed opinions on where he should play at the next level. My take is that his margin for error would be better if he kicked inside, where you might not have to worry about his lunging against speed early on. However, there's a talented tackle prospect in his film, and he's not "raw" in a developmental sense either. I'd rather gamble and see what I can build out of him at tackle before I think about him at guard.

Player Comparison

Dion Dawkins ( Buffalo Bills)

Much like Dawkins coming out of Temple, there was some back-and-forth about whether he should play guard or tackle. However, Dawkins' length and play strength saw him earn a shot at tackle for the Bills and he has steadily grown into one of the best tackles in the league. I see a similar style for Membou.
