The 2024 college football season saw the Nebraska Cornhuskers finally end their bowl game drought and finish the season with a winning record. But while head coach Matt Rhule has had to make some impactful changes to his staff in the weeks since the season ended, some good changes appear to be coming to his roster.
According to college football insider Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, Nebraska has just landed a transfer commitment from one of the top offensive linemen available. Per the report, Alabama offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett is committing to Nebraska and joins the team with two years of eligibility remaining. Pritchett started all 13 games for Alabama this past season.
"BREAKING: Alabama OT transfer Elijah Pritchett has Committed to Nebraska, he tells @on3sports The 6’6 330 OT started all 13 games for the Crimson Tide this season Was one of the Top Available OTs in the Portal. 2 years of eligibility remaining," Fawcett wrote.

Coming out of high school back in 2022, Pritchett was a five-star recruit and the No. 31 prospect in the country, per 247Sports. He was the No. 4 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 5 player from the state of Georgia.
Pritchett played sparingly as a freshman in 2022 and mostly came off the bench in 2023. The 2024 season saw him come into his own as a real force along the offensive line and he played a big role in the success that the Crimson Tide enjoyed this year (albeit not as much success as they're used to).
Pritchett will most likely becoming the blindside blocker for Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola, who showed that he could be exactly the quarterback the Huskers have been seeking for ages as a true freshman in 2024.
This year Raiola started 12 games and went 6-6, completing 66.6-percent of his passes for 2,595 yards and 12 touchdowns with 11 interceptions.
If Nebraska hope to improve on their record from this year, much less become contenders in an increasingly tough Big Ten Conference, they need Raiola to show even more growth in 2025.
Pritchett is likely to have a big role in that department.
