NFL Draft Prospect Jalen Milroe Names His 'Superpower'

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe ranks among the most polarizing prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. He was invited to attend the draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin in-person, but might not hear his name called until Day 2 or even Day 3 based on some projections.

Ahead of next week's draft, Milroe is making a push to advertise himself to prospective NFL teams. In a recent interview, Milroe declared that his "superpower" is being able to react faster than his opponents can, allowing him more time to make critical decisions.

“The most important thing that I have is being a problem solver,” Milroe said, via CBSSports.com. “Being cool, calm, collected, being disciplined in my reads, not being one dimensional. Yes, everyone likes to mention my utilization of my legs, but I believe that I just play one step faster than my opponents when it comes to the passing game and the running game. I know that’s a superpower that other people do not have.”

There's no denying that Milroe has some wheels. He reportedly ran a 4.37 40-yard dash at his Pro Day - a mark comparable to renown speedster Lamar Jackson. He used that speed in college to score 33 touchdowns for the Crimson Tide while averaging 4.2 yards per carry and 41.5 yards per game on the ground.

The real question - and the one that teams will use to determine how high he gets drafted - is how good he is as a passer.

Despite finishing sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting in 2023 while leading Alabama to the College Football Playoff, he struggled a lot more in 2024, completing a lower rate of passes while throwing a higher rate of interceptions.

His down year in 2024 has dropped him from an almost surefire first-round pick a year ago to a player that could go anywhere from the first-round to the fourth-round of the NFL Draft.

Given how valuable quarterbacks are, it's hard to imagine that he falls past the second round of the draft though. There are really only two or three quarterbacks that analysts see as viable first-round quarterbacks. After that, it's a free-for-all to find the best QB available.

Where will Milroe be drafted?
